Remember what happened the last time we took a team lightly? Let's not have a repeat of that.
Huge game. Last win was cathartic I think. This one is a weird day, weird time on a weird @$_-$ court. I feel pretty confident in the energy and leadership we've been seeing the last few games that the momentum is just getting started. But a Monday night in Minnesota in January is when you prove you're an everyday guy I think.

Minnesota not gonna be any easy game. Took them awhile to figure out playing Garcia and Battle together when the latter got over injury. They seem to have figured it out. And they have a guard who has been playing well too. They don’t have much of a bench, so getting one of their big three in foul trouble would be nice.

With the season now half over, I think we're pretty much already seeing RJ's game:

- 3 upper classmen on the roster leading our team (TSJ, MM and CoHawk)
- Dainja has emerged as our huge "go to" guy in the middle; (his PT is on the rise, he just played 30 minutes)
- RJ is a secondary scorer, after the four guys above + Epps
- Goode returning shortly and will steal some minutes
- For this season, I think RJ is going to give us 6-8 points/game, primarily off the bench --- with an occasional burst for 14-15

I tend to agree with the above, but I wouldn't be surprised to see RJ come out of it at some point. His injury was to his shooting side shoulder, no?

The loss gave Ohio State (10-6, 2-3 in Big Ten) its third straight, while Minnesota (7-8, 1-4) secured its first Big Ten win of the season. The Golden Gophers received a strong scoring contribution from North Carolina transfer Dawson Garcia, who poured in 28 points on 9-of-15 shooting. Minnesota shot 50% from the field while limiting Ohio State to 37.5%.

Goode news! Sound like could be 2 more weeks until thrown into a game tho? Sure they want him in 5 on 5 for a few days before too. Hope I’m wrong!
I think I saw on this board they’re expecting him back for the OSU game

You have to expect every Big Ten game to be a dogfight , especially road games. The MSU game ended up being a 9 point difference. What if Mayer doesn’t get hot? This team is prone to shooting slumps. It seems their offense is driven by their defense. If the defense isn’t solid… ?

A lot of angst among the fandom. I say the Illini cover easily.

Wait, is there a team who is good when they have shooting slumps and un-solid defense?

If Sencire is playing, someone on the bench needs to constantly run the side and endlines to ensure he doesn't accidentally kill himself diving for a ball. I still don't know how the NCAA hasn't outlawed that court. Injures about 2 people on average every season.

I finally had the chance to watch post game press interviews with coach, Matt, and Dainja. veryInsightful and at a worse case Matt has a stand up Improv career.
I love that coach put the top of key half court weave back in. Thought it could have helped us avoid long spells of not scoring in other games. It simply suits are players! I wish Skky was still around to run it! Our 3 guards driving to bucket hero ball in the spread simply wasn't working. Now when in doubt weave, drive to rim, or pass it to the agile Dancing bear with great footwork Mr. Dainja. Or kick out for a more open shot. It works for these men. Kudos to the staff and here's to hoping Skyy gets back home to Champaign, if it's meant to be. Great coverage IllinoisLoyalty!
