Biggest worry for me is we indeed have 7 players available, but that doesn't include Kofi, Trent, Grandison, and/or Plummer.

I'd hope for a reschedule at that point.
Or the committee is going to have to look at player availability when analyzing how well a team did. Otherwise this year has the potential to be complete apples and oranges when looking at records solely at face value.

Any insiders hearing approximately how many players are positive and if any are asymptomatic?

New CDC guidelines would have all asymptomatic players back for Sunday, but I’m guessing U of I’s policy is “behind” that (i.e., stricter)?

Sunday will be the last day of my own personal quarantine, and it’ll be sad if I can’t watch some Illini hoops!

Pretty sure all but 5 players are in quarantine.

I don’t see any reason big ten or University policy would be stricter than the CDCs

Thanks. I’m guessing we don’t have any words on symptoms? If our guys are asymptomatic and we’re following CDC guidelines, I actually feel slightly optimistic we can play at Minnesota on Sunday. Pretty sure we would have had some of these tests recorded before Tuesday (the cutoff).

I saw that the Minnesota / Alcorn State game was cancelled as well. Was that due to Alcorn State or to Minnesota Covid issues?

If a game has to be rescheduled it sounds like the B10 office will do the rescheduling....wonder if theres been any word on just what criteria they will use and how much input the effected schools will have in the rescheduling?

So with Saturday as a travel day, it's feasible the 5 players alluded to above may be the only guys participating in practices this week --- and may also be the 5 guys starting.

Assuming we play this game fully healthy, I actually think we match up extremely well against Minnesota. Illinois is the 2nd best team in the nation on the offensive glass and the Gophers are the 2nd worst. Even if we miss our 3s (and Minn is solid defending the perimeter) we should absolutely dominate the battle of the boards. I know they’ve had a good start to the season, but I don’t know how they account for Kofi.

They probably account for Kofi like everyone else--by doubling and tripling him, leaving guys like Plummer with open looks. But we have to come ready to play; Minny won at Michigan.

Don't suppose the new 5-day quarantine guidance can help the roster for the Sunday game
