I need a win this game. I live in Nebraska. I can't take them running their mouths even more. I need this win!

I thought about driving up the road a half hour to see this one... but then I remembered how the last time I did that Nebraska crushed Illinois by 20 something in Weber's final season. That sucked.

Different coach and team - suggest doing it, unless you don't mind being surrounded by people in red.

Post that in the locker room until we win a conference game. Don't like being at the bottom of that list? Then do something about it.

I find it really hard to care about this game after last night's disaster. Yet I'll still probably watch because I always continue putting myself through this misery for whatever reason.

This is exactly how I felt last night after the debacle. But, I feel a little less this way today, and will probably be ready to watch again when Monday night rolls around. Nebraska just lost a tough game in overtime on the road against a decent Penn St. squad. I'm sure they'll be hungry to get back on track. I'm hoping we can start to shake off some of our inconsistency and put together a full game of solid basketball, but I won't hold my breath.

I was there also, called it the crying game because Myers Leonard was crying on the bench because we got beat so bad.

Went to last years game, it was the second to last game of the season. At that point the Huskers were in disarray and Groce was fighting to keep his job. The Illini won the game fairly easily. This years Husker team is much different then last years. They have transfers from KU, Gtown and Florida that give them size and athleticism. I'm praying for 2 good halves from our guys to get rid of the 0 in front of our Big record.

When people talked about the program hitting new lows last season (and grumblings of it this season), I directed them to that game.

That, to me, will always be rock bottom. Getting picked apart by a lackluster Nebby with a lottery pick on our bench crying.

The longer turnaround may be our friend on this. I hope it gives the guys a little longer to get some strength and energy back. It's a game we really need and one we can win.

I completely missed what TL did. Hopefully he's back, but I noticed coach was very non-commital about his return.

I agree, it’s time for guys to dig deep and see what kind of intestinal fortitude they have. I mean if players aren’t really angry And embarrassed right now by the way this season has played out, then I don’t know what to say.

As a lifetime Illini fan I will continue to support and watch every game they play....What is hard is balancing the losses with the expectations of returning to prominence in college BB...

We have lost 3-4 games that an experienced BU coached team would not have lost...growing pains in life are hard to digest especially with the love of the Illini and the massive fall from being in the championship game in 2005 to the last 12 years of utter failure and disappointment...

Will we return to past laurels ? In my opinion , yes...
With BU as coach he will demand no less....His post game pressers show how much he cares and I applaud his frank demeanor in assessing what went wrong with each loss...Former coaches would throw players under the bus and fantasize about other teams players while failing to acknowledge their own failures as leaders of men...

Looking forward to Monday night as I am an Illini fan...It's what I do...cheers for the Illini and relish the wins and get pissed off at the losses...

Hopefully Monday night around 10:30 or so I will be relishing our first B1G win....

This was my starting five immediately after the Iowa game. A few days allowing me to mellow out hasn't changed it. I'd love to see Underwood make a statement here and hopefully light a fire under a couple of players behinds.

Gonna keep on predicting a loss until Illinois learns how to win a basketball game.

Right now, I'm leaning toward Nebraska winning this one by a few points.

But this is the sort of scenario in which I wouldn't be surprised to see us come back strong and win. Unexpected loss at home, getting trashed in the press, team was sick, the lack of leadership apparent.......this is the game when the team rallies around each other and makes a statement.

Or, we maintain the status quo and lose another close one.

We'll see.

I totally agree. We will either win or lose.

Game? I find it hard to care about the rest of the season after what we've watched.

Giving up a 20+ lead at home against a bottom-dweller is not something I take lightly.

The status quo is 0-5, having a lot of difficulty against size, making freshman mistakes, playing great for a stretch or two, but not knowing how to fight through tough stretches to win. I hate to say it, but I think every coach so far has found how to exploit us. So much of close games is will, and if you can't impose your strengths on a team, you're in a lot of trouble.

The good news for me personally, is we should be in this one, and I'm not expecting anything at all, so it's probably somewhat entertaining to watch anyway.

We have some minutes of good bball, and we have Trent Frazier, who doesn't f!@#$'n quit. I like watching guys with a champions heart, and he's a baller. Even though the team let him down, I don't think I'll forget what he did for a long long time.

I concur. The fact that 4/5 of those players are new and 3 are freshmen speaks volume of the talent BU inherited. I like Finke but there is now a debate that a previous mid-major recruit (Ebo) should replace a seasoned 4 year junior. IMHO need to see who is effective against BIG and other top teams vs the cupcakes.

We need to add 1-2 bigs next year.

My feelings also. I am wondering if we will win another game this year? It is becoming more obvious that we are unable to compete against the size of other B10 teams. Our wings are not athletic enough to cancel out size.

Even given our horrible start, we are not going winless in the BIG. My feeling is, that of the 13 games we have left, there is a good chance we put things together and win several. I can't see us getting to 9-9, but I think we have the ability to end up 7-11 or 6-12. Again, after our start, either one of those outcomes would demonstrate significant progress.

Hopefully, our pathway to picking up these wins begins with Nebraska. It would be great to get our first on the road.
