He only wears it for the orange out these days except randomly in against 2022 against Bethune-Cookman when I think he thought the team looked dead.
Could just make that the "orange out" game then. :)

I bet Brad won't mind. As the leader of the "Every Day Guys", he really doesn't seem like the coat and tie guy anyway. :ROFLMAO:

Road games are hard in the BIG.....we always find a way to play crappy at NU and let some jabroni go off on us. I'm hoping that is not the case this time as we are the better and more talented team. I watched NU play UNLV earlier in the year and if you can slow down Martenelli and Barnhiser you easily win this game as they struggle to score as a team. We on the other hand do not and should not struggle to score.

We're coming off a big win in front of a huge national audience. We just had a full week off. We're playing our first road game against a team we know will try to trap us to death. We've had far more mature teams than this one have trouble in that high school gym against the kitties. We now know we can do it on the big stage, but can we handle the rigor of conference play? It's been far too long between games for us fans and I'm champing at the bit to find out.

With my severe dislike for the mildcats aside , I think we stomp them and their nerdy fans into submission and prevail by ..................

Illini 84
nu 70

Let the conference play start with a big win and we stay in contention throughout the B$G season play...................

I really really do...............

I think Illinois doesn't play particularly well tonight but still have enough of a talent gap that we come out ahead 79-72.

B1G road games against inferior opponents are always scary. Try to keep Martini from his left hand, and Barnhizer is tough in the half court with his ability to drive/create at 6-6 230. Everyone can knock down 3s.

Vegas knows - hence the tight 3.5 opening line - but I think we prevail:

ILL 77
NW 71

Need to bring the defensive intensity. It seems that whenever a "worse" opponent knocks us off in their own gym, it is because they are shooting really well from three. If the Mildcats are not on fire from deep and we bring appropriate effort, we will win. Period.
FOTN, I appreciate you keeping track of the winning percentages, but really don't like the UCLA up there. I get it, just don't like it. We are so close to passing PU, but UCLA will take a generation of success vs a generation of mediocrity from them to catch up.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say they will play particularly well tonight. On par with the last game vs. Arkansas. Typically, I'd lean toward your thinking, but my gut is full of Illini probiotics today.

I'm feeling orange af!

Should be all-time SINCE they joined the big ten, not before.

TBH, I somehow had signatures disabled on this site and forgot I had that in there until someone commented on it last month. :ROFLMAO: So, when I was updating everything, I figured it was logically consistent to include the entire new Big Ten. However, I agree with your sentiment ... not only is UCLA not traditionally in the Big Ten, they are just an anomaly historically. When I update some other stats, I wanted to make a topic that tracks the top 5-7 historically in the Big Ten for a lot of different categories (e.g., winning percentage, NCAAT appearances, weeks in the AP Poll, etc.).

I will be there and certainly hope your thinking prevails. You all will not want to read my future posts if they ruin my weekend with a stinker tonight.

I would lean more toward this being a must win. Beating Wisconsin and Tennessee like we will could be soured by losing on the road to NW.
But seriously, losing tonight puts more pressure on beating one or both of Wisconsin and Tenn who are both pretty dang good.

83-69 ILL

Yep, I still see the game as a must win. Don't want to gear up for TN and Wisky with a conference road loss in our resume.

A little nervous we come out flat and they come out punching. We have to respond and not turtle. This is a very winnable away game (and these are extremely important in the Big Ten race). Let's run over the Kitty Kats!

I’ve never been confident about them playing at Northwestern. I get that we can outnumber their fan base, but I rather we play in a half full arena with a quieter atmosphere then one where we inadvertently feed the fire for their fans and make them louder than they’d normally be, similarly to the Braggin’ Rights game. I think we come out with a win but I’ll be super sour if we don’t.

Noted, but instead of watching that game Loyalty members may be more interested in the Georgetown v. West Virginia game that airs at the same time on ESPN2.
Beat down the Hoyas, then the kitties and count it as 1.5 wins for the Illini today
