For this one I'd start Lewis, JCL, Malcom, DJ, and Finke. First off the bench is Nunn and he comes in for Lewis.

If healthy, KN has to start. He's one of our top two players, he'll get six days off to heal up from injury and finetune his shot, and he's a Chicago product who will want to play well in front of family and friends in Evanston.

Maybe this is the downstater in me talking, but I couldn't care less if he's from Chicago, and thus should get to play there. If one of the freshmen were taking the shots he did today, they'd be benched in a second. This season is basically over, so why not send a message?

This one will be a W.

I agree. I don't see how we lose to Northwestern. Even with the injuries, we can match them in talent. Furthermore, the guys are showing some pride and I don't think they'll let their little sister get the better of them, even if it is in their place.

This is a game Nunn will dominate. He'll be able to get by on athleticism. I expect him to dominate the game.

We should all learn to hate Bryant McIntosh. He's as despicable as Alex Marcotullio. Straight evil. Shut down Demps and McIntosh and we win! Easy as 1, 2, 3!

I predict the John Groce at Illinois thread will be very active in a negative way after the game and the following week.

This game will be dubbed the Wednesday Bowl......winner avoids the B1G Tourney play in game on Wednesday.
I'll be there blazing my Orange.:thumb:

Here is my view. It should not matter whether he is playing in Chicago/Evanston or Columbus, Ohio. The desire to excel should be the same no matter the venue.

I have spent the entire conference season with low expectations. I've been surprised to see the disdain on the board following the OSU losses and the Iowa loss. Personally, I've just been looking for moral victories and silver linings for next season. Saturday is a different story, though. I will be  if we do not come away with a win. I don't care if we shoot 20% or 60%. I don't care if AA plays 0 minutes or 40. The finer details in this one mean nothing to me. We need to score more than Northwestern does, I don't care how. We can NOT lose to them.

Why do we have to even start Lewis or Tate? At this point, we might as well play DJW and AJ and play without a PG since neither of Lewis or Tate is a BIG PG anyway. All they can do is bring the ball up the court. Whoopdy-doo! After that we're playing 4 on 5 and Lewis/Tate reverse the ball from one side to the other.

Sit them both and start Nunn, JCL, Hill, Finke and Morgan and bring AJ and DJW off the bench to gain experience for next year. Lewis is better than Tate, but Lewis won't be here next year. This season is over, so let's move on with the future.

Give Tate and Lewis each 10 minutes/game to keep the other players fresh. That's it.

Malcolm needs to take Tate to the gym this summer and show him how you work on shooting. Because if Tate could and would shoot halfway decently, he would be a serviceable PG and offer good back-up minutes next year which would be very valuable to the team.

Amen brother! I have been saying this since the Ohio State game at home...we have nothing to lose, lewis/tate are not a threat to any team; dont drive, shoot, or create a shot for others.

Correction: Lewis drives... but can't make most of his lay-ups.

In addition to getting good drives to the hoop (for mostly missed layups), for several games now Khalid's been very effective in ISO backing his guy down to the basket (unfortunately, also for misses). Has good post moves -- up and under, drop steps -- too. Just hasn't been finishing. I'd be inclined to keep having him do this 2 - 4 times a game in the hopes the scoring part starts clicking. Would be a nice boon to the O to force the D to honor him while he's out there.

Not as simple as that. They have more weapons than those two. Can't forget Alex Olah, who is one of the better bigs in the league.

I also noticed both Pardon and Falzon are two freshman that are contributing pretty good tick and production (about 9 ppg). Gotta keep an eye on those two as well.
