I hope our team comes out angry with something to prove.

Loved the blowout in assembly hall. Would love the same in Evanston.

If we put Coleman at high post he can feed Goode/Harmon for the corner 3 pointer or Gurriere/Rodgers cutting to the hoop for the dunk.

I think Shannon can neutralize Boo with his length and we can run them off the court.

Hopefully a pro Illini crowd.

Personally, I am cautiously optimistic they will wind up in the top 75. They're a decent team. On that note, though, as of today these are our only remaining Quad 1 opportunities (in green) ... so we need this one!

at #73 Northwestern
vs. #100 Indiana
at #59 Ohio State
vs. #47 Nebraska
at #21 Michigan State
vs. #95 Michigan
at #99 Maryland
at #121 Penn State
vs. #52 Iowa
vs. #96 Minnesota
at #13 Wisconsin
vs. #2 Purdue

at #52 Iowa

Only one Quad 1 opportunity left at home, and it's Purdue ... we have to be Road Warriors. Also, it's worth noting that OSU has been plummeting and fell from #46 to #59 in the latest rankings ... I wouldn't be 100% sure they remain top 75 if the losses pile up. Also, I think the MSU victory at home is a lot bigger than it felt like at the time.
a plus side could be that the committee has always given high value to road quad 1's

I keep doing mental math trying to weigh if that Maryland loss will hurt more than the Michigan State win helps or if it balances out in the end. As big as the Q1 win was, if those were swapped it may have done more for our resume to not have that bad loss. I suppose a lot of that depends on if Maryland gets their act together to become a Q2. They are playing better but still not much to show for it since the upset. Would be a real shame for that hiccup to cost a seed line which it very well may. It’s a moot point since it happened and plenty of games left but what kind of fan doesn’t constantly think about these things lol.

So, we can definitely lose tonight’s game. NU is tough particularly at home.

That said, I don’t know if anyone noticed, but if we had shot even a modest percent (33%) from 3 and made a few more free throws, we would have hung 100 points on a top 10 KenPom defense.

I’m excited to see what we look like defensively when TJ gets his bearings. But offensively we may be top 2-3 good. Crazy with no PG.

So give the 4.5 and go B1G?
Official’s will have something to say in this one I expect at least 5-6 charges called against us putting Coleman and Marcus in foul trouble and maybe even Shannon but with that being said our depth wins out

I have been to all the Northwestern B1G games. The students pack both ends of the court and have all kinds of materials to distract the free-throw shooter. The students really get into the game and unless you take them out of the game they give Northwestern a distinct advantage. The non-student sections are typically made up of many visitor fans and the visitors are typically louder and more into the game than the non-student Northwestern fans. It is a tough environment to play in and unless Illinois plays their very best, Northwestern will beat Illinois.
We've beaten them 10 of the last 11 times we've played. Half of those were at NU. I'm not buying your logic

Will TSJ start tonight or continue to come off the bench around the 1st media TO?

Regular Season Wtf GIF by NBA

Something I never thought I would read in any Illinois/Northwestern basketball game, regardless of location of game.

That student section behind basket looks very intimidating

If the team wins most of the remaining games and keeps playing well, the Maryland loss will just be the "they didn't have Terrence Shannon" loss, and it won't seem as bad to the selection committee... not everyone is aware that Maryland has pretty much just owned us for a decade for whatever reason.

Also, Illinois wins by double-digits tonight... we are going to beat them down into the next quad.
