Asked about the Illini:

URBAN MEYER: Their defensive line is really good. That's one area that -- and obviously today is Monday, we're right, knee deep watching them. I've not watched their offense yet like I normally -- just don't have any answers for you on offense.

But defensive line catches your attention and they're penetrators and they're big dudes, 310 pounds and 290, the other guy. But the defensive line catches your eye as a strength.

neither do our coaches

Not to worry, Urban. We don't have any answers on offense either. Sad that we're ranked around 100th in rushing defense and it's our defensive line that stands out. I realize a big part of this is that our LB corps has been decimated for most of the season, but it still says a lot about the rest of the team. All I'm hoping for in this game is that we don't show any quit.

For my part, I do not think that I saw any quit whatsoever from this team all season. And since they are now playing one of the top teams in the country as their second to last game of the season, I'm pretty confident quitting is not in the vocabulary for this week.

tOSU will be looking past this game and will sleepwalk through it. Hard to get psyched for it when the Michigan game is just around the corner. Wait till Urban watches more Illinois game tape and sees our punter. As for concussion protocols, I'm shaking my head over Russell Wilson last week refusing to go in the tent and Tom Brady refusing to admit he had a concussion last season, but his wife says he did. So it is all over the place, in the pros. I almost was going to say college programs look out for the players, but then I remembered Beckman. Oops.

That terribly sad point in the season where I will be doing something else (in this case in Chicago with my girlfriend for the weekend) and probably won't even bother to try to watch. :tsk:

I did, however, make our Friday dinner plans revolve around being able to watch the Illini play DePaul! :D

I honestly think UoI has a chance here. We can catch OSU sleeping; hold on with our imporved defense.

Illinois 16- 14 OSU.

You are talking about The Ohio State University and not Outback Steakhouse University, right?

I want some of what you're having....

2 diff. threads colliding here, but you're saying that we go into the horseshoe and knock off the buckeyes and then proceed to fire Lovie and hire Chip Kelly???

Given our propensity for injury this year, do we have to sit up? Seriously, let's just forfeit

For clarification: I would make a stay on giving Lovie Bear the axe if he beats OSU. Otherwise I say we make a pass at Chip Kelly. Why not choose a project team with lots of upside in the best conference in the NCAA? I couldnt see him saying no unless he has an eye for a specific job.

Imporved Defense (Check your spelling)- You have made me laugh for the first time all week.

Love your enthusiasm but don't see OSU Sleep walking even with this being a sandwich game.

Ohio State must win out in a Big way to have a outside remote chance at the CFP.

They Dismantled a good Michigan State team 48-3 last week

According to my ESPN app, Illinois has a 0.8% chance of winning.

Fearless Forecast 2013: Illinois 35/Ohio State 60. Man, if only our defense could match our offense.

Line up to -40.5 some places.

Honestly, if I did bet, I would take tO$U, give the points. I think the number will be close, and the only reason not to cover, would be that the Buckeyes have NOTHING to fear from our offense. So, they can safely play their 3rd string for the second half.
