I feel like every time someone says this we lose.

That being said, hopefully we can build off our wins in the previous two games and compete in this one. Don't think we win but would love to be wrong.

I'm fairly certain I recall it in our first 8 conference games.

My gf broke one of my glass Illini tumblers right before we lost the last 6 B1G games.
I blamed it on her and told her I'm buying her an Illini shirt (she refuses to wear Illini gear because "I didn't go there) lol, and that she has to wear it.

That shirt came in the day before the Indiana game. So far so good.

Mojo like that should be good for 17 more wins.

Nice table setting game for the Super Bowl. Hopefully it will put me in a good mood. We seem to always have a tough game in Columbus, even when we are undefeated. It will be interesting to see how BU schemes against Bake-Diop.

That's kind of how I feel. It would take the effort displayed against MSU combined with the efficiency we saw last night to win this one.

I think our guys will be rested, pumped and prepared. And with any luck, OSU will be so unsure which Illini team shows up they'll be watching their own shadows.

If we shoot at the percentages we did against Rutgers, and cut the number of turnovers in half; we win.

Everyone seemed to come out with a little more fire in them. More than I've seen from before. Love the progression of the core of guards, but still don't like to see them turn over the ball so much. Especially Trent.

This game should be a coin flip, because I don't expect our team to shoot like they did last night on the road against a tougher team. Giving the obvious edge to OSU.

Maybe OSU will be focused on their super bowl parties & not playing a potential difficult game? :thumb:

I know I'm an (untrustable :D) optimist, but after last night's performance I feel like we are right at the cusp. A loss is a loss, but if we literally just hang on vs. Northwestern, Maryland, Iowa and Nebraska, we are 16-7 (6-4). Those losses might have sunk our season, and we DID lose them, but this team is simply not the disaster that its record indicates, IMO. I think we come out on Sunday and give Ohio State a real game; we have historically played them well, it seems. I'll predict an encouraging loss:

Illinois 63
Ohio State 69

Then I think we get payback vs. Wisconsin, beat Penn State, get a nice win in Bloomington and get payback vs. Nebraska to get a nice little 6 out of 7 win streak before a likely loss in East Lansing.

GO ILLINI!

I expect us to come out aggressive and try to create turnovers. They're going to be tough to stop in the half-court with Bates-Diop and Wesson around the basket (also, Jae'Sean Tate is still there!? How old is that guy? 30?).

Penn State was able to go in there and win by shooting 79% from 3, but I don't think that's on the cards for us. They aren't a great outside shooting team, so our best shot is to force turnovers and keep the ball out of the paint.

OSU - 72
ILL - 63

Lots of zone defense?

Possibly. It's tough to play aggressive, force TOs defense, and zone. Those two aren't typically compatible. I'd expect us to come out in our typical aggressive man-to-man and see how it goes. If we aren't getting TOs and they're getting easy buckets, zone would make a lot of sense.

this COULD be the season changer. Not sure if we can win, but would be a massive game. Continue the streak

Wesson seemed to beat up IU last night. We'll have to stop him from getting the ball if we want to be successful. KBD will get his, but we need to keep Wesson and Tate from helping him out. Hopefully Kipper will give them problems.
