My television set (are they called that still) no longer has any option to change the channel or even power it off without a remote.
It's got a button to turn it off for sure. Probably not to change the channel though, as the most of the time you don't use the channels that are built in.

Now that you mention it, that sounds about right. I probably can’t change the channel on mine either. I got fed up with the low battery on the remote a while back and immediately downloaded the app.

Ole Miss is ranked 24th in the AP preseason poll, with us just sitting out of the top 25.

This will be the first real test/display of a really talented team that no one knows what to make of yet. I hope it wakes the media up. If this team gels, they could have a historic season.
As long as we get Tomi. In my mind, he's that important.

Curious to see if our defense is as bad as advertised. I think we have too much individual and coaching talent not to be good offensively.

Let's do us all a favor and not jump to conclusions until after we've watched the team defense until several games in.

Doesn't your TV have Alexa? I could talk to mine to change channels, but I disabled it because I am paranoid and don't like machines that listen to everything I say.

I've got bad news for you. It's listening to you either way also your phone is too.
Even worse news for both of you. I'm listening.

Tomi being deemed eligible to play in the exhibition has to be a good sign, right? He said knowing full well the NCAA is simply spinning a wheel to come to their decisions and trying to read into anything is a fool's errand...
I would think Underwood might not play him if he thought Tomi would be out until the mid-point of the season.

I'll take this as a good sign.

Is that why my voice setting just changed from the standard generic female to the cheeky male European accent?

Public service announcement-change your setting to one with an Australian accent. If you are going to have your phone tell you the robot overlords are actively listening to every word you say, at least have a kick-butt accent as part of the deal.

Genuinely, I could not be more excited for this scrimmage. I feel a little silly saying that, but it’s true.

Last year, going into Kansas, most of us knew we were going to be pretty darn good. Even if we hadn’t seen those players together, there was a ton of film on each of them against college-level competition. It didn't take too much processing power to understand guys who’ve already done it in college would continue to do so, even if we didn’t know just how dominant some of them would become.

This year, though, it's a bit more of a mystery box. We have a sneaking suspicion we’ll be good—the talent seems to be through the roof—but we are extrapolating form and play styles from all kinds of different competition. We think it’ll translate and the pieces will mesh, but this is the first chance to see a lot of these guys live and against this level of competition. Because of that, this is a stop what I’m doing and lock in for two hours situation. I can’t wait to see what Brad has built.

I love the new normal of charity exhibitions in October against a high major team. The money goes to a good cause and us sickos get an early preview before the games really begin in late November. It’s a much appreciated aperitif.
