I am confident that we will look a LOT better than in our first meeting and that they won't look quite like the all stars they did in our first meeting ... beyond that, I'm nervous as hell and can't make a prediction! If we play like we did at Iowa, I think we win by 7 or so (up 10 after FTs but PSU hits a three at the buzzer, obviously). If we play like we did vs. Rutgers over the course of the game, I think it will be a nail biter, as I don't think we can count on a PSU scoring drought. I think it's imperative to avoid a slow start. Win this one, and we will have won 12 of 14 Big Ten games heading into a massive clash in Bloomington. JUST WIN, BABY!
How would we win 12 of 14 big ten games if we only have 9 wins (and 5 losses)?

I'm confused on the 12 of 14? Pretty sure it will be 9 of 11? (just saw someone said same)

I'll be honest...after we beat them, I'm going to become a PSU fan the rest of the season (unless we play them in the BTT). It's a team full of seniors, and none of them seem arrogant or cocky (aka a Mulcahy). I can't pick out a single punchable face on their team. Plus, Shrewsbury seems like a good coach.

I'm normally not the guy that roots for B1G bubble teams just for the sake of getting more teams in. Wisconsin and Michigan can lose every game left on their schedule for all I care. But I think it would be a good story if this PSU team got hot and snuck their way into the tourney. Only after we beat them tonight!

And as far as that goes, I'm a big believer in the "Seniors die hard" saying. I would not be surprised if they shot really well tonight. They are desperate for a good win at home, and with 2 easier matchups against Minny and tOSU next, they could turn it into real momentum.

Hopefully we bring our offense, too.

Goode looked kinda rough against Rutgers. I'd prefer Melendez still rotate in for now. We need him for end of game free throws.

Just like UW said in the press conference the whole vibe is differeent in an actual game.
Finding the "flow of the game" is going to be challenging.

Winnng the defensive battle and rebounding will create offense....although I wouldn't mind seeing some inside out action on the offensive end just to make things a little easier. Don't think the light bulb has totally switched on for this team just yet....but it's getting close

If I have a standard Comcast ESPN subscription, am I going to have to sign up for something additional to see this game (hopefully a free trial I can cancel right after)? Or should I be able to catch it on the app?

TIA

Is ESPNU part of your basic package? Check your guide.
The U is included in most basic cable packs.

Wisky and Scum play each other tonight. The question remains, will we see another Pizza Hut altercation on the court? Going for Wisky in that one. I am hoping that we help book Michigan's trip to New York.

When are we going to go “off” and just kick someone in the teeth?
Monday Feb. 20 v. MN at home. Perhaps. That's the only opening I foresee. Or maybe in Columbus on the 18th if the hot mess that OSU has become persists.

Coach’s answer sounded like RJ will be in uniform, but he will still not be playing tomorrow
It really is beginning to look as if unless RJ starts knocking down shots he will not see the floor much with Goode back along with Ty doing basically every other skill more effectively. It really sucks based on how RJ played last year and shot the ball. Many expected more from RJ and hopefully he can hit a few more of his good looks. If he doesn’t he will drop deeper into the rotation. Especially after violating team rules

This is my concern. Seniors who can shoot and hit from the arc at a high % are simply unpredictably dangerous. Opponents this year seem to play a level or two above there expected level against the Illini who have, in general, lacked focus in the first 5-40 minutes.

Most importantly, I have finally gathered enough true and irrefutable information to declare that the entire world and its forces are aligned against my personal interests and that all Illini losses are due to my desire for the Illini to win. Therefore, in an effort to fool the world and its forces, I will state right here that I want Penn State to win tonight's game by hitting shot after shot from the arc and ever so slowly for Jalen Pickett to score 30 in post ups in the paint.

That will get them!!!!

PSU is tough at home, not so much on the road. They are 11-2 (their only road win is us). We are going to have to really bring it tonight to get a W - not going to be a pushover.
