B1G road game @ Penn State......ugh......too many bad memories for me to be confident at all....They have some very good guards who , in the past, were good from 3pt line...I haven't watched them play this year and with chambers gone, don't know their style of play this year...Glad Stevens and Mike bipolar dude are gone, but when I think of PSU the first thought is the 38-33 thriller a few years back...fried clyde mems.......
We need a win streak started to refresh the lads and restore some level of confidence to the squad...we have the talent, but silly fouls , turnovers and really bad refs has us in a think first mode...just play Illini and we will be back on track.....
Style is uptempo, run run run. The interim coach had the 4th highest-scoring offense in D1 when he was the HC at LIU-Brooklyn 10 years ago. Luckily, the PSU roster lends decently to that style of play this year.... but, I'm not convinced that that style of play can do anything in the B10.

This might be a good get-right game for Miller. I do think that given DMFWs emergence as an offensive threat as a spot-up shooter, we would benefit from having Miller rotating in and giving the second unit an alpha on the offensive end, rather than starting. He looks passive and nervous at the same time right now, which is no bueno.

The "road game" excuse this year is just that..There are no fans in the stands. Its not even close to being normal. Other than the travel itself, the rims and the distance behind them, there is no real home court advantage this year. B1G refs have always been trash, location has never mattered. If anything, Underwood needs to push the refs more. Martin literally whined his way into that flagrent foul against Kofi.

No way he starts a game this year. To me Grandison looks like a d3 player. Seems a step slower and more sloppy than everyone else.
As I said, I don’t expect it to happen. I think Grandison has looked a bit lost at times, but not sure I’ve seen enough of him to agree with your D3 assessment. I will say he and Hawkins have played nearly the same amount of minutes thus far and Grandison leads or is tied with Hawkins in every stat category except for FTM (though not in FT%) and OReb (but not total rebounds). Also on a per minute basis, his stats are very similar to Giorgi’s — though Grandy’s minutes haven’t been nearly as important.

That’s where I’m at. Him and Ayos games are very similar. I’d give Ace the keys to that second unit and let him be our Ayo for the bench mob.

We also don’t need a senior leader cheap shotting a freshman with, as Dakich called it, a “Will Ferrell” headband. Like Griffin rubbed off on him a bit.

I thought DMW looked embarrassed at allowing Mulcahy to goad him into that response. He knew he'd been gamed and was not happy with himself for letting it happen.

You make a good point. But there is something much less tangible about playing at home vs the road. It’s like pooping in your own bathroom vs Menards. It feels better and usually goes smoother.

I don't know man, there's something infinitely satisfying about going into someone else's place (say an annoying neighbor named Stan McMaffrey), nuking their toilet, and just walking out of there with big grin on your face.

Sorta like Talor Battle (he is back, btw, on staff now)? ;-) Did you see his little brother, Boo Buie (for Northwestern) go off against MSU last night?

When the dust settles on this season, PSU will be 4-16 in the B1G (Should they play all 20). If we are what we want us to be, we will sweep them pretty handily.

I thought I read that it was because of his defensive shortcomings that his playing time has been minimal?

I think it was during the MIZnoz game, an announcer said that the home team selects the refs. Is that true? In the SEC? In the B1G?

PSU game on Wednesday offers us 2 important things......a chance to get an all important Quad 1 victory plus also get a difficult road BIG victory. We only had 5 BIG road losses last year. We can't go down in BIG road games 0-2 this early.

calling that a cheap shot is an insult to cheap shots. That was Damonte boxing with high arms and the other player realizing that, leaning slightly to force the contact and then flopping. Playing and simple, and everybody on both teams knew it. Pretty old trick actually, and he is gonna get popped for real if he builds that type of reputation. Laimbeer-esque behavior most of the game. That being said, if he was on your team you'd love him.

That well could be and wouldn’t surprise me. Though against Rutgers (and Miznoz) that seemed to be pretty much a team wide thing.
