"It was so important for Rutgers to rebound like this and get their confidence back after a really rough outing against Ohio State last week" is something you're going to be hearing a lot next Saturday afternoon.

We could win.

Expect a loss.

IL might be able to lose by less than 14.5 though. I'm optimistic.

Considering Rutgers just played OSU tougher than we played a bad Minnesota team, we could potentially get beaten badly. That could be enough to finish Lovie. Or we could come out and play like the talent we have on the team, and win a close game. Until proven otherwise, I’m going with the former. I think IW starts if he’s healthy, but I don’t expect to see much different that what we’ve already seen from this offense.

-6 --- Doesn't really seem sufficient.

1. on the road
2. without our starting QB
3. riding a 6-game losing streak
4. 120 yards of penalties vs. MN
5. and physically speaking, we just don't seem to stack up. Our players don't pass the "eye test" -- we look like a JV team vs. the Varsity

Back with my prediction near the end of the week.

I absolutely love the play calling by the Rutger's OC! He mixes things up, uses the whole field both horizontally and vertically, and keeps defenses honest with both the run and the pass.

He may relax against us. Send a guy over the middle, wait until he is 10 yards clear of every defender, toss him the ball.

I still believe. Time to turn optimistic. I'm leaning toward predicting a WIN this Saturday in New Brunswick.......

* If we can win two consecutive road games against better teams, we're suddenly/magically 2-3
* We overcome a 50-point spread and upset #3 Ohio State (at home, in front of 463 fans) by two touchdowns to reach .500
* We then beat the Hawkeyes for the first time since 2008
* Finally, we shock the undefeated and West Division leading Wildcats on the road in Evanston in the regular season finale
* We finish 5-3 in a 3-way tie for 2nd place --- and prepare to battle the Indiana Hoosiers during Championship Week! Too early to predict this one.

Rationale:
"We're not the team that fans have seen over the first three games. It's as simple as that."

Please share what you're smoking. Not that I dislike what you're saying, I just don't see any success in our immediate future. So many basic problems are not being solved.
