As to the 2007 game it was my young sons first game (he’s a student in CU now). All week long he asked for one thing: A big orange finger. We came down and stopped by GameDay and grabbed one and even though he couldn’t see a lot in a large crowd that was standing quite a bit, every time he waived his finger something good happened.

Convinced this was a real thing, he dutifully packed his foam finger as we were heading to the Rose Bowl (didn’t help much there).

So I do have a great memory of the 2007 game in Champaign. Lol.

Not impressed by Bucky. This is definitely a winnable game. That said, we need to keep our composure and we need to not turnover the ball. If we're not in a hole early, we'll have a legit shot at knocking the off. Love that we have extra prep time and am confident that staff will have the team fully prepared. Needless to say, this game could be huge for the program.

This would be a damn good week for our kickers to get in a groove.

Hahaha. You sound like my daughter and we were at that game too. It was one of the best games I’ve been to in person. Great memories. My back still hasn’t recovered from standing all game. 🤣
♥️

Gonna get sappy for a moment. For you and all the other dads (and moms) who keep taking their kids to games, thanks. They really are foundational memories.

Now, let's go into Camp Randall and surprise some folks.

And this is my favorite Wisconsin game of all time, just in principle. I was alive (just) but not in the stands.....and not yet able to spell ILLINI.

Wisconsin Absorbs Worst Football Defeat in Nearly 50 Years Losing to Illinois, 51-0.

Wisconsin sophomore Quarterback John Boyajian recovering a fumble while LaCroix (#67) attempts to block the opposition during Wisconsin's 51-0 loss to Illinois. The loss was Wisconsin's worst football beating since a 54-0 loss to Minnesota in 1916.'s 51-0 loss to Illinois. The loss was Wisconsin's worst football beating since a 54-0 loss to Minnesota in 1916.
DESCRIPTION
November 13, 1965: Wisconsin Quarterback John Boyajian recovering a fumble while LaCroix (#67) attempts to block the opposition during Wisconsin's 51-0 loss to the Jim Grabowski-led Fighting Illini of Illinois. The loss was Wisconsin's worst football beating since a 54-0 loss to Minnesota in 1916.
That was my first year at UIUC. I was working at the old Eisner store on Neal Street during that game.

A long way off and a lot of work to be done starting with Wisconsin, but if Illini win next 3 and Chase has 3 more 100+ games (likely would be needed to get those wins), does Chase’s name find itself on the Heisman watch list?
Watched Minnesota destroy Michigan State yesterday and learned on the broadcast that Goldy's Mo Ibrahim had his 13th consecutive 100+ yard game against MSU. With Minnesota looking strong, the only way Chase goes ahead of Ibrahim for national attention is with your scenario of winning the next three (which would put Illinois in the B1G West lead), while Ibrahim also gets slowed down.

so when was the last time an Illinois coach "went home" and won? I'm assuming we haven't had a lot of these occasions.

Good question. Very likely Lon Kruger would have done it if he would of stayed one more season (left for Atlanta Hawks job in May 2000). Illini beat Kansas State (where he played and coached) by 20 in Manhattan in December 2000. No. 9 Illini dominate KSU Lou played New Mexico State 3x during his tenure, but never at their place.

I watched perhaps just 8-10 minutes of the OSU/WISC game last night. The Purdue and NW games were much more entertaining!

Speculating next weekend's opening Vegas odds:
Wisconsin: -9-1/2 pts; 45-1/2 pts Over/Under

Computer-generated Predicted Score: 28-18 Badgers (not my prediction. I'm still contemplating & analyzing. But we seem to be a lot healthier and certainly more well-rested. And Walters has had a lot of time to study Wisky film!)
That PU and NW game was definitely more entertaining!!!!

I also watched that game and the goofers RB is a load.....first time I remember seeing him as he was out last year .........But the B1G RB who caught my eye was Corum from scUM.......Numerous long runs and had a lot of yards after contact ........I'll still take Chase brown over both of them because......

1. I'm an embarrassingly die hard homer on all things Illini.....
2. Chase has some of the best quick twitch moves I've seen by any RB lately ..............
3. Give Chase a lane and his speed will catch a lot of defenders off guard and out of position......
4. I'm an embarrassingly die hard homer on all things Illini................

Any recommendations for Badger fan message boards or discussion forums? Free that is?

No one respects us right now. Honestly, no one. Was listening to a sports talk show while driving yesterday and they went thru a fairly in depth conversation of all the b10 teams with a shot to contend, particularly in the wide open west division. No mention of Illinois. Anywhere.
Well, everyone but the BTN studio guys. DiNardo et al have been singing our praises since visiting during fall camp.

Question for anyone going to the game who bought tickets through DIA: What section are your seats? My wife is a Badger and normally I buy tickets through DIA but this year she had a work trip...that just got canceled so now we're going. thanks!

Great job with player development. Many players playing above their ranking and early in their career.

What is going on with Shammond at LB?

Brown is awesome but Mo is a little better.
