Agree that the last two games didn’t tell us anything. They were just two more chances for guys to play together. But not sure how next four games are going to tell us anything more about rotation. Basically playing 8 guys and don’t see that growing or shrinking.
You're right about playing together. That will continue. This team will get better and better. But the time has come to beat somebody that matters. That's the opportunity Arkansas gives us.

Definitely agree. I was just commenting on the OP last sentence — “believe the next four games will give a better indication on who will be in the rotation and who will not.” I think number in rotation or who doesn’t change. Riley could eventually move into starting lineup, but I don’t think BU is in any hurry to do that. Having him come off the bench provides that “instant offense.” I think it also allows him to control his minutes a bit to keep him fresh all season. And a bit easier to deal with potential foul trouble. He’s a headsy player, but still a freshman. I’m sure we’ll see him get in early foul trouble another few times this season.

Win Thursday will really set this team up going forward. They know they can win games like this against good opponents, but actually doing it will pay big dividends in the confidence department. Not as if this is a most win game, but certainly want to see a much more competitive game.

I don’t like any of them, respectfully

Already sick of all the AI generated graphics.

As far as these ones go - There is nothing genuine about any of them.
All of imagination is based on experience. AI is not going to change that.

Agree 100%. And, with all due respect, you (the original poster) haven’t “created” any of the images . You’ve “generated” several images, but none of them are your creation. Ai images are soulless, lifeless and void of any clever imagination.

That’s fair. I felt the same way other technologies over the pass 20 plus years since highschool. I also learned, that in my field it’s keep up or get left behind.

Thank you for the feed back though. It does help

They're derivative, but so is a lot of art. I'm philosophically against the copyright infringement that seems to be inherent in them, but I'm also a realist that knows these models are scrapping data and no one's figured out a fair way to stop them or reform copyright. And since he's not using them commercially, I'll go ahead and vote for 2.

honestly didn't know zvonimir was still in college, let alone at arkansas with cal.

This is a somewhat regular debate in my job. On one hand, AI just tries to imitate human creativity. Imitation by definition is not creative nor authentic. On the other hand, when a photographer takes a photo of a landscape, has he or she really created anything? The landscape was already there. They just used a piece of technology to generate an image of it.

To bring this back on topic. AI is also the nickname of Allen Iverson who played at Georgetown. Georgetown is now coached by Ed Cooley who called us a bs program. Tomorrow we'll beat Arkansas and show that we are in fact, not a bs program - not that we need any additional validation of that.

As for Riley, I definitely agree. He also needs to really go to work on his body. He needs to get bigger and stronger. In our next four games he'll have to play through contact and deal with aggressive defenders that are bigger and stronger than he is.

I think we will see mores and Tomi out there together tomorrow a lot. That way they can keep a presence in the paint while also not letting zvonimir shoot with ease.

I’m not sure what you mean by “a lot.” I think it will be more like some. Morez’s season high in minutes is only 21 — and that was in a blow out last game. Also have to remember that in the only game against competition like Arkansas, he had 4 fouls in 9 minutes. How much is BU going to want to use up his backup center’s minutes playing him with the starting center until Morez shows he can stay on the court in big games?

I’m not saying Morez is always going to have foul issues against good competition, but he is a freshman big man. I don’t know much about Ark (haven’t seen them play), but does BU want to risk having to go small with Ben or Booth at the 5 should Morez or Tomi or both have foul trouble?

Even if the landscape is there it's still up to the artist to decide how to frame it(lighting, blocking, etc).

AI isn't actually creating anything it's just scrubbing any available data it has to generate something based off those works. And at a tremendous resource cost.

Also, it's not actually AI in the way it's commonly thought of it's basically just rebranded machine learning models that everyone is calling AI in an attempt to hop on the train and boost their stock prices.

Anyways, automation is supposed to help make mundane tasks easier to allow humans more free time to enjoy hobbies like creating art. The idea of using AI to create "art" just feels shallow and soulless(the same way a lot of art created by focus groups and boardrooms feels soulless).

Just like it's up to the person using AI to write a prompt that produces something interesting.

But I agree with your last sentence. Though, again, there are plenty of cases where AI can be used as a tool to enhance artistic pursuits.

I was told in a company meeting that almost half of white collar jobs will be replaced by AI by 2030. This was information sent directly from Microsoft. This is what's being sold to executives and they love it. They are replacing RNs for $9/hr virtual "AI" nurses and say they can have classrooms with over 200 kids where a tablet with AI will teach your kids with one teacher (or help desk person) overseeing everything.

There are already several career spaces that are being obliterated by AI. Especially artistic and media production work.

Source: I'm in cloud IT and deal/work with AI often.

For sure. AI is inevitable. I could spiral on this all day but don't want to upset people by being off topic lol..so last thing I'll say about it.

The way we're talking about in my industry (advertising, branding) is that in our careers, it's more likely that we'll be replaced by a human who knows how to use AI better than us than it is for us to be replaced by AI.

But ultimately yeah, AI will replace a lot of jobs. Eventually, in the distant future, I think enough jobs will be replaced to the point that corporations who rely on AI instead humans will have to pay a hefty tax which will go to workers displaced by AI. Businesses will accept this because if they put too many people out of work, there will be no one left to buy what they're selling.

To bring it back to basketball, a desktop computer running Windows 98 could probably out coach Ed Cooley.

Technologists always under estimate how cheap people are. I do believe AI will fundamentally change how we live in some ways. Nobel prizes in physics aren't participation trophies. But when the solution to the AI power challenge is to rebuild 3 mile island, that suggests some daunting issues still to be overcome. More generally, I think this phase is like the early days of the Internet, not sure yet which idea is pets.com and which is Google or Amazon.

Our team as currently constructed does not play defense, pass or rebound well against top 20 teams. Brad needs to shake up the team.

Options
- move Morez into starting lineup - improve rebounding
- move KJ to off guard - too many turnovers on fancy passes and his defense is atrocious
- Move Riley into starting lineup- improve offense flow, hustles on defense
- Play DGL more - he shows more energy and defense
- Start playing zone to hide KJ and Ben

JMO
- Trey is playing for stats. He looks for his shot too much when he should be a complementary player (do we miss Ty?). He constantly is trailing his man on screens.
- Ben needs to rebound more and play better defense. 40% 3pg% is OK
- Team needs to work harder to get open. Bunch of sidewise passes never toward basket unless it goes to Tomas.

I like the first one the best. I dig the graphics and resolution on it…high impact I like the slogan. I like the brick texture on the Block “I”
+1. Just needs something about Razorback season being open.
