Chattanooga
I’m a lifelong fan of Illinois and recently moved to Chattanooga. Got a chance to check out a few of their games this year. I’m bummed because I wanted to see the hometown team do well, but I cannot against my beloved. Watching in the 423 but rooting for the 217 till the day I die!

So their best player is from Belleville, eh? Hmmm

Not sure what to think about this video, but part of me really likes it. This team cannot go into this tournament over confident. I hope they are humble and hungry and take Chattanooga seriously. Our team is very talented but not so good that they can take any game for granted. I want them to have the confidence to shoot when they are open, or drive to the rim without hesitancy, but I also want them to have a "healthy fear" of their opponent. They can make it to the Sweet 16 and beyond if they play their best. Go Illini!
Um, yeah. 100%. They heard our name and said "okay", intent on seeing who their matchup was.

Now, it's not fair to compare that look-in to the fake, televised reactions of other top-25 teams. There's not much to take away at any rate. With that said, that group looks far from naïve.

They have beat 1 tournament team. And it just happened today. If anyone wants to make an argument against the use of analytics that argument starts with Houston.

Plus, Houston had Marcus Sasser when they played Butler, Virginia, Oregon, Wisconsin, and Alabama. So those games aren't really relevant to the team they are now.
Well Bryant too, so 2. But yes, I think we win, I just don't think it will be a cakewalk is all.

Seth Davis with a smug little diss towards the BIG, what a little turd. We shredded his "projected bracket", so he is pouting like a spoiled toddler. How people as clueless as he gets paid so damn much money is a puzzle. I am well into my 60's, and if I ever run into him, I will have no problem telling him what an incompetent boob he is. I have filter problems with controlling vocalizing what I am thinking lol. I was a researcher and basically inferred the Vice Chancelor of the University I worked at was less than brilliant during a meeting once. You could visually see everyone moving/leaning away from me. :) Should probably had anger management counseling at some point, but now valium fills that roll.
I’d like to get you and Pruman together for some cocktails. I’m buying!

That Cincy game just cmon man with that game. It was early in the season, Kofi's first game back, we are dealing with guys not in the best shape at that time. Look I'm discounting the game completely but timing is everything. If we play Cincy 3 times we win the other 2 times. You could take just about every high seeded team and they have a loss or two that sticks out early in the season. That Cincy game is not who we are, it's who we were.
I hate when people say this, but that Cincy game was an anomaly, we beat them 9 out of 10 times. That was a bizarre game.

I think we beat Chatanooga handily. No answer for Kofi. I hope Curbelo just keeps himself under control and picks when he wants to do something amazing instead of trying for it every possession. I doubt Hawkins will shoot as well as he did against IU, but hopefully he keeps his effort on rebounding. He's had some huge putbacks and critical rebounds throughout the season. Houston maybe be tougher than expected. Their interior defense of the paint is really good. And they will swarm Kofi as soon as he gets the ball, so the guards have to knock shots down if both ILL and Houston play each other.

Playing Arizona again would be a dream. The first game was great, too bad Plummer messed up with that 5 second call at the end. If we get a hot shooting game from plummer, frazier and grandison, then we definitely have a chance to beat them.

4 guys scored against Arizona
Frazier, Plummer, kofi and grandison

Curbelo didn’t play.

Would expect another classic game if we both get there

We have a team that can beat anyone on any given day. Sure we've been a bit inconsistent at times, but we are going in rested, and healthy. To win it all, you have to win 6 games in a row against top notch competition. I love our draw, and I love that we are back! The last 20 years we have been OUT of this tourney too often. Brad Underwood has brought back excitement, and dang it I'm ready!! I can't wait!!
Thank you for this. With the tone of this Board, you’d think we were already knocked out of the tourney.

Really tired of all the fans whining about our draw, again, and saying how lucky teams like Wisconsin are. We have to go out and win games. Final four aspirations by some yet we are scared of Chattanooga and Houston?

Arizona is potentially the best team in the country, and you know what, we played them down to the final minute. A rematch with them is probably better for us than our first look at another 1 seed.

Let’s go out and get to the second weekend like we deserve, then try and be the ones who shock people.

Oh my gosh I can't believe we drew a seed where we likely have to play Kansas in the final four/Gonzaga in the championship. So unfair.
