lol. Fabulous. Motivate away Jay!
(Sorry @hooraybeer; REPLY to your post doesn't work for some reason so I pasted it in here.]

[EDIT: For those who recall Fast Times at Ridgemont High, I have two words: Charles Jefferson. Jay Bilas is Spicoli driving Jefferson's Camaro with Jefferson's little brother riding shotgun.]

Loyola won because Kofi couldn't pass out of a double team. He has fixed that.
Kofi had 21 points on 58% shooting with 9 rebounds if I remember correctly. I don’t think he was the problem. Unfortunately Ayo had his worst game on the season that night, and we couldn’t figure out how to defend a pick and roll. We also got out coached (huge Brad fan, not a knock, just what it is)

It is not as simple as that. Houston is a good team in a weak conference. It's pretty easy to go on a run when you are a better team. Gonzaga is a national power in a mid-major conference. If they are anything but 1st there's a problem. Arizona is a top notch team in a conference that only got 3 teams in.

On the other hand the Big Ten got 9 teams in, over half the conference, and 3 more than any other conference. Hard to consistently go on runs when every night you are playing strong teams.
Excellent observation. And then add to that the extent to how thoroughly the Big 10 teams have each other scouted.

Love Kofi's reply.

Also, Bilas lists the top 10 bigs in the tourney, and has Kofi #2 behind OT, and Timme was #3. So..... weird that he wasn't in the top 10 players.

As mentioned before, great guard play seems to be the ticket to the FF. We are fortunate to have (imo) three guards that can take over a game in different ways. Trent and Plumm3r shooting, and Belo all around guard play. With regards to Belo and his very trying year....he is exactly the type of guard that explodes on the national stage.....if he's ready for prime time. Honestly I think if we are truly to make a run, we don't need the "good" Belo...we'll need a spectacular Belo that jumps off the screen and smacks you with his 'fro.

I hope we play loose and confident. You could see the confidence building in CoHawk and Belo in the last couple games.

If we really are "contenders" for the FF....we easily handle Chattanoogie, and then beat Houston/UAB with no real problems. The mostly anticipated matchup/rematch in the SS with Zona will be a pick 'em.

If we are pretenders (again), we squeak by Chat. and then get bounced by Houston.

Hopefully BU is correct when he says they will be loose and not tight....ready to have fun and let it fly.
Not picking on you Dub..... Couple issues.

Great guard play absolutely tends to get you to the FF. That's where our biggest problem lies. Frazier and Plummer (seniors),seem to disappear for parts of games and Belo has been spotty. Agree with you that Belo has a new chance to play like the pre season AA he received votes for.

If we have a rematch with Zona, they will be favored by close to 10 points (as they should be) They bullied us in Champaign and only our lights out 3 point shooting made it close.

We can win it all if we play hard and smart the EVERY game. Hoping BU has a few surprises he's been holding back. ILL!!

Man Kofi will be playing for his life in the tourney. And we can thank Jay Bilas for that
I wonder just how angry that made him. I don't remember him ever being the type to directly comment on something disrespecting him, but he let Bilas know what he thought. Own these fools, Kofi.
