I saw that and LaTulip does do a great job on those video breakdowns which are quite lengthy - but good for the serious fan and a couple levels above what the coaching scouting report will contain. It does show we really shouldn't lose to this team, but you would have said that last year after watching tape too. Kofi should have his way inside, we shouldn't have to double anyone so they won't get open threes, tetc.

We just have to be able to adapt and deal with adversity in the tournament when we get down unexpectedly - this team has a ton of experience, leadership and heart and they have made big comebacks before - I think last year will be a lesson learned and hopefully propels us this year.
I personally think Mr.. La Tulip would be a great assistant coach. Although he's great on the BTN, probably in line for big pay day announcing games for a network.

I've been in a self imposed silence. Doing my homework. My Illini class, wolf pack, and family play for big money and bragging rights on March madness. I have went big10 heavy recently and lost. With 3-1st team All Americans this year I will go Big10 heavy again.
1. We beat down UTC, if not shame on us!
2. Houston seed is a joke for a team that has won a average of 28 regular season games past 4 season. I like our match up with them.
3. The only reason they put us in the same bracket with Arizona is because we played them. If you have to prepare for Kofi in two days. And you've never played Mr. Kofi Cockburn, it's a nightmare! Zona has prepared for him and they dominated Kofi with size and Fouls Never Called! But I think we we stand a good shot especially if that guard is still hurt. KARISSA, the guy from Serbia six-foot-four who hit like five 3-pointers in the second half against us! I like our chances against Zona.

My concerns:
1. Individualism, players playing hero ball trying to get Into draft picture.
2. Free throw shooting! Free throw
shooting.
3. Turnovers
4. Cold spurts of scoring
5. Most importantly, we Out Rebounded teams by 10 early season. last 6 weeks we are getting Crushed on boards! What happened?

I do not have us doing the deed, deep! But I love this team and hope to see them continue a awesome journey! GO Fighting Illini!!!!!!!

Ps. I'm worried Coach Chester Frazier will be leaving us, for Kansas St. Head coaching job! Remember, I guessed it. Go Illini!

ok but who is Plummer going to guard for his 25+ minutes? I am sure coach will figure out a way to win....
He covers the other guard (their sixth man) they bring in but dont start who conveniently plays around 25 mi uses a game.

I just need two wins in the tourney.

If you told me before this season that we would be BIG champions and made the sweet sixteen, I would have been ecstatic.
Anyone of us would have been. Just gimme two wins and all else is gravy this year.

I mean, we just had two guys come down with pinkeye of all things. Wear gas masks and hazmat suits if we need to 🙂
I would be talking about the pink eye as much as possible -- rare affliction that could be an advantage. I know I wouldn't want to get too up in some guy's grill when he's got pink eye.

Pink eye: it opens up the driving lanes. /s

I wonder just how angry that made him. I don't remember him ever being the type to directly comment on something disrespecting him, but he let Bilas know what he thought. Own these fools, Kofi.
I mean - the top ESPN talking head about all things NCAAM basketball makes a list of the top 10 players in the tourny, lists 4 first team AP AA's as his first four and then proceeds to list 6 other players not named Kofi - it's very hard to interpret that as anything but disrespect - I'm just glad Kofi saw it and responded the way he should have

Someone could be sick, but I’d lean towards “we are taking every possible reasonable precaution to not have anyone on the team get sick”. People have been wearing masks on planes for decades. Very easy to spread sickness in a plane
OT but, actually, because of the airflow (ceiling to floor) and recirc mechanisms a plane is among the safest places to be in close quarters with others in terms of pathogens communicable through the air.

It's March. These guys have been passing this lung gunk around all winter.

If we have a rematch with Zona, they will be favored by close to 10 points (as they should be) They bullied us in Champaign
Sorry to be a couple days late on this but no, this would be like a 4, at absolute most 5 point spread - not anywhere near 10. Splitting the difference and calling it 4.5, the dog statistically wins that game almost exactly 1 out of 3 times.

Also we led the game in Champaign with two and a half minutes to play and lost it essentially on one bad, late, mental error.

Kofi hits that open 15 footer with 50 seconds to go - we are tied.

I wish he was still taking that shot. Seems to have lost confidence.

I agree with you - it will be around a 5 point game most likely - tighter if Kariisa doesn't play
I don't agree we lost on Plummers mental error - we were down three when that happened, still low chance of winning that game, but we had plenty of chances to put that game away and probably should have won it - with Kofi shooting 5 of 15, no Curbelo and CoHawk is obviously a much different player now

I like our chances against Arizona - with Kofi playing better and Belo being a difference maker, particularly with CoHawk at the 4 we can match up with them much better

I like our chances assuming we get a few more scorers. Trent, Plummer, Kofi and Grandison were the only scorers in game 1

What if Zona gets beat? I know, that's not likely but you never know what's going to happen. Look at us last year.
