I heard shortly after his injury that he'd be out around six weeks. It's been three weeks, and I haven't heard any update. 🤷‍♂️
Most athletes with nasty sprains like it appeared he suffered would be out 6-8 weeks. However, as long as he didn't completely tear any ligaments or tendons, he may recover a bit quicker considering the state-of-the-art sports medicine / recovery facilities and personnel at the team's disposal. Of course, even after he is cleared to play, it is going to take a little while to get back up to game shape again.

I've been noticing this more and more with Coleman but his problem is his footwork and balance are....not good. People complain about the stepback and the reason his is so bad is that he doesn't really look on balance when he does it. Same with when he drives or posts up, his balance and footwork just don't look very comfortable or effective. Its not something we think about or notice a lot but that's really something that separates the great players.
Excellent observation blackdog. He appears to have no idea how to move and shoot on balance in the paint. But that is likely far from true as I am reasonably certain they work on paint moves quite often. Almost unexplainable as if he was a 50+% scorer in the paint, it would really prove an asset.

So, are we likely to survive this brush with Colgate? If we sink our teeth into it can we pull this one out and extract a win? I think if we can brace ourselves we can straighten things out without gumming up the works.
yeah yeah we know seth meyers GIF by Late Night with Seth Meyers

Noon game on a Sunday after finals week against a tourney quality team. Classic trap game. As much fun as it is to watch NW and, to a lesser extent, Creighton, lose, this game now scares the crap out of me. Please come ready to play!

I get the fear...for a young team. Not this old bunch. They've been around the block too much to fall for that.

Was Chicago State and NW a trap game for NW. Colgate will hit some 3’s, and look good. But we have to run them out of the gym. TSJ will take over the game.

Hopefully the fact that we will have had over a week to prepare for Colgate and then another five full days before MizNoz will help avoid the this being a trap game.

If we played Bragging Rights on Wednesday or Thursday instead of Saturday, I could see the temptation to look ahead and start preparing for the rivalry game early. But they will still have plenty of time to get ready for the Tigers so I would hope there is no reason to overlook Colgate.

That doesn't mean there is no chance of coming out flat after a long layoff, but at least there is no excuse to be looking ahead at the next opponent.
