I know it's a 1 vs 16 game but this thread is about Drexel. We shouldn't get caught looking ahead.
It wasn't when most of us posted, just so you know.

(Clarification: the thread title was changed. It was "Illinois the #1 Seed in the Midwest Region")

Why is that? If we lose to them are they going to take top 50-75 instate recruits from us?
no
but we NEVER , EVER scheduled DePaul either .
not sure they wanted the game either
it’s simply not in our interests to make those games happen . why would we ?

We did play (and beat) Depaul a couple years ago in the Big East Big Ten games. I was there back when we were still bad.

Can't take anyone for granted, even Drexel. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw some jitters early on and struggle because of it. Remember, even the 04-05 group came out flat against Fairleigh Dickinson in the first round. I think we only lead by 1 at halftime.

I think the difference is that with Kofi, you pound it inside to a guy who gets layups and dunks, which gets you in rhythm and takes a lot of pressure off of everyone.

I really like that Illinois drew the Friday/Sunday matchups. Already took vacation days on Thursday and Friday. Would have had to schedule Monday off as well. We keep playing like we are and nobody will want to face us. I bet Okl. state fans are mad they'll have to face us...
They are. My buddy is furious. Even Jay Bilas agreed.

Drake 12-7, 4-5, finished 6th in the CAA. They had 11 games postponed due to covid. Somehow they won the CAA tournament.

They are a good shooting team, FG 28th @ 48%., FT 22nd @ 78%, 3pt shooting, 41st @ 37%,
There leading scorer is 6-2 junior guard, Wynter at 17.6 pts/game.
Butler 6-8 center leads the team in rebounds and blocks. Second on the team in scoring and minutes.
It seems they like to control the pace. Their adjT is 340. 238th in points scored.

They are small, play 6 deep, want to play slow. Our size, speed and athleticism should dominate this game as expected in a 1/16 matchup. If we don't win by 30 I would be shocked.
