I'm glad that the Illini don't have to play in the fake Assembly Hall. ;-)
Still 25% of seats filled? It'll just be louder for a packed, smaller venue. Glass half full that one.
Why not? No IU fans there! LolI'm glad that the Illini don't have to play in the fake Assembly Hall. ;-)
20 points for Grandison.Playing Drexel . A good 3 pt shooting team. We just face three pt shooting teams. You feed it to Kofi. They play zone. You put someone in the middle of the key and boom. We just went through a gauntlet the last 10 games and boom.
Hopefully, this is the only game Illinois plays in a smaller arena. I doubt there will be many Drexel fans in attendance, and it's likely that the 7-10 or 8-9 games would be more compelling outside of the participating teams fanbases. That won't be true after the first round.Seems very strange to put us in the smaller arena. We absolutely painted Lucas Oil orange, and we are going to bring as many fans as any team in the nation, with the POSSIBLE exception of Purdue!
Very good 3pt shooting team and they aren't afraid to let it go from deep. They have actually shot over 50% from the arc since Feb 1st.
I think they have to wait until the Friday games are complete, because they don't want teams to play their first and second round games at the same site.Has it been announced where the Sunday game would be?
6 degrees of Kevin Bacon, something, something, somethingNCAA selection committee: we don’t do storylines, silly.
*Puts Loyola and OK State in our region*
I find it very interesting that the NCAA actually has a plan. Encouraging. I like it.I think they have to wait until the Friday games are complete, because they don't want teams to play their first and second round games at the same site.
I thought they waited to see the match-ups for tv.Has it been announced where the Sunday game would be?
Baylor, Wisky.kind of a crazy question : do we ever wear blue uniforms anymore ?
Hopefully, not the rest of THIS year! Since they’re a #1, they’ll probably wear their lucky home script Illinois whites for the whole tournament, right?kind of a crazy question : do we ever wear blue uniforms anymore ?
Always wondered . . . why does the home team wear the boring uniforms? Why not let the home team wear their bright colored uniforms and the visitors pack the whites? Is this just part of being a good host?Hopefully, not the rest of THIS year! Since they’re a #1, they’ll probably wear their lucky home script Illinois whites for the whole tournament, right?
^^ Did they actually say this anywhere? Or is this just how things have always been?I think they have to wait until the Friday games are complete, because they don't want teams to play their first and second round games at the same site.
Oh I get it, Drexell. Ha ha. Took me a minute. But yeah, that's pretty funny. I like it.Drexel gonna get their NEXT "L" . . . when they play us . . . on Friday. Boyeeeee.
Burn. That at the Drexel joke on one page? You guys are killin it.Why not? No IU fans there! Lol
In a normal tournament, teams are sent to different cities, and potential second-round opponents play their game in the arena where each played their first game. Here, teams are scheduled in various locations throughout Indianapolis. We're at Farmers Coliseum, were IUPUI plays. If we win, we'd play the winner of the LUC-GT game, which is being played at Butler's home, Hinkle Fieldhouse. The NCAA believes that if the second round game were played at either place, the team who played their first game there would be more familiar with the place and have an advantage. Therefore, if we win, our second game won't be at Farmers or Hinkle. It's not a problem in regular tournaments, because each team in a second-round game would have had an equal chance to play (one game) in that arena.^^ Did they actually say this anywhere? Or is this just how things have always been?
kind of a crazy question : do we ever wear blue uniforms anymore ?
I wish you hadn't mentioned this. We had good juju going. If we lose, it is YOUR FAULT.kind of a crazy question : do we ever wear blue uniforms anymore ?
It only means I'm old and will be pushing up daisies while you're cheering the Illini on to their third or fourth natty's.You know that people hate you for that don't you?
Go to the football thread, and your wish will be granted!Always wondered . . . why does the home team wear the boring uniforms? Why not let the home team wear their bright colored uniforms and the visitors pack the whites? Is this just part of being a good host?
