Should they recruit players with better immune systems? It seems like these young athletes in their prime have been sick continuously for 6 weeks.
I think this is why people were questioning why players were still sitting on the bench when they had the flu and not playing. I understand after a time you are not contagious but if you aren't playing stay home and rest up. Best medicine for you

Honestly that's not even the worst example based on where the ball is an how long and difficult of a skip pass it would be to get the ball to Boswell.

There are some examples in there of the guy guarding Boswell nearly having a foot in the paint while Boswell is in the ball side corner.

They were basically begging Kasparis to kick to the open shooter in the corner and daring Boswell to shoot it.

A loss by 40 won’t hurt us. Everything will be pro-Duke after this game, how they’re great.

It's a bummer to agree with posters that we don't have much to lose. We'll drop in the metrics if we lose by 30+ but given where our seed is at, probably in the 8/9 range, even that won't count for much. No one will be surprised by a double digit loss.

Really bummed about Morez being out. Tomi is going to need help, and Morez would get some valuable experience playing against these guys.

I think the question on everyone’s mind is this, will Jake Davis be available?
Need him as a depth piece...especially for this one (would have never thought that when we first signed him)

He seems like a EDG and it'd be 4 days removed, so I am hopeful!

While nice to remember the Illini breaking Duke's streak, there's not much comparison to this Duke team. The 95-96 version lost home and away to GA Tech and Wake, lost to unranked MD in the ACC Tourney by 13, and lost their first round game in the NCAA Tourney 75-60 to ... Eastern Michigan. A win this year would be a whole different kind of good.

I think you are correct. Jim Turpin, the voice of the Illini for years, is a big reason why I have followed, listened, and watched Illinois for over 60 years.
I will add this. I really like Brian Barnhart and crew on both football and basketball. There is just something unique about listening to radio play by play. I do not do it enough. As a Cardinal fan, I much prefer Rooney and Horton over the television announcers.

I agree with the general sentiment. Radio commentary is definitely unique compared to television crew. I am honestly not sure which is harder. Radio commentary has to be fairly detailed, as the listener is not watching the game; whereas the television crew is there for the entertainment/analytic value (we can already see the game happening with our own eyes). I will say that I enjoy radio announcing for baseball in general, and I tend to listen to that feed on mlb.tv over the tv feed.

Surprising amount of respect on the Duke message board, with the caveat that all are obviously predicting a win ... but it is very much in the "Don't overlook this team's crap record, they have played really well at times!" kind of way. :ROFLMAO: FWIW, this is my effort to stay 110% positive.

We are theoretically due for a "great performance." Here are our games since January 1, with opponents blinded, and my super subjective analysis of how we played overall.

1/2 - ELITE
1/5 - Average
1/8 - Great (missing players)
1/11 - Bad (missing players)
1/14 - Great
1/19 - Average
1/23 - HORRIBLE (missing players)
1/26 - Average (missing players)
1/30 - HORRIBLE (missing players)
2/2 - Average
2/5 - Bad
2/8 - Great
2/11 - Good
2/15 - Bad
2/18 - HORRIBLE

So since Indiana, we have only had one great performance, and it was vs. a bad Minnesota team. Let's all pray we're due to randomly start shooting like snipers, haha.
