A true best friend would support you watching the game on your phone, if not on his TV...

This from a guy who didn't take his wife to the hospital for a torn Achilles until after we lost to Arizona in 2001, 57 free throws in the last four minutes.

Priorities man...

It's at a restaurant, he thinks he's just going out with his wife and parents. Not even sure if they have TV's there.

Unfortunately, it's not weird because CBS gets to take whatever games they want. The SLC games will bring in the most viewers with Arizona, Kansas, and Gonzaga. Then, Michigan St and UNC will also bring in a lot of viewership. The network dictates the game times. It is odd given that you'd think Illinois and Duquesne would've gotten an earlier timeslot but it's not as sexy of a matchup as Kansas-Gonzaga or UNC-Michigan St

Kansas gets the worst end of it because they finished their game around 11pm local Mountain time and then have to play again just after 1pm local Mountain time on Saturday. That's a 38 hr time swing. Whereas, the teams who played earlier today get over 48 hrs of rest

Avery Johnson needs to be shipped to the moon both for his awful announcing and for his terrible job as a head coach.
I always dislike how March madness rolls around and they put a bunch of ppl who don’t know college bball on the broadcast. Avery about had a stroke trying to figure out Dain Dainja’s name in the first half yesterday until his partner bailed him out. He means well, he just doesn’t know (college) ball

I can't possibly imagine why. They are maybe the hardest working dudes covering college basketball, they are clearly huge fans and not homers, and they are genuine.

I've never seen or heard anything controversial come from them, but I haven't seen it all so maybe they could offend someone.
Some took exception to their comments about Coleman hawkins not being a winning player/champion when he in fact had been part of two banners (now 3) before they said that. And if I recall they tried to diminish his contributions when called out on it and then had to be reminded that he was a big contributor in that championship clinching game against iowa

How are you covering illini hoops day in and day out and not know we won the Btt just 3 years ago and the regular season 2 years ago, and that our lone 4 year player obviously was on those teams?

THey posted a crow eating video:

It's why Coleman "randomly" posted the cutting down teh nets pics on twitter and such which preceded that infamous PSU game ha....of course he shouldn't have paid them any mind but he is who he is hah

that said, I enjoy them and their commentary 95% of the time

As one of the main complainers about bracket matchups, I’ll be the first to admit, things are shaking out well for a trip to the sweet 16. Still have to take care of business, but I think the scare tissue from previous tourney early drop outs is ready to heal.

Win Saturday and Skyy is the limit. Pretty please let this be the year we make a deep run 🙏
Please God! No!

This “apology” for getting it wrong feels more like an “I’m sorry you feel that way” sort of apology. Actually pretty snarky with the talk about how he was on the team, but didn’t get many minutes. Would love to see an update to this now that he has 3 titles in 4 years. Probably need to go back 20 years to find another player at IL with 3 championships.

I’m great with the time. It’s the same announcers that I have an issue with.
I personally thought they were terrible.
I didn't think they were terrible, but I think all announcers fumble the ball by not telling the audience what players are actually on the floor. I can't remember if they said a word about DGL. He did a great job off the bench. I definitely want him back next season.
