Freshman will always want (maybe not deserve) more minutes. Especially tough getting minutes with an older squad. Can (Hansberry and DGL) they get enough minutes to see a promising future in CU?
IMO Harris will get minutes in preseason games, but his will minutes be limited overall. Probably fewer minutes than last year. 479 minutes / 14.5 minutes a game
has Dain improved offseason? If so, we will see him on the floor a good amount.

Tiers of playing time
Shannon, Hawkins, Domask,
Guerrier, Rodgers
Goode, Harmon, Dain
Harris, DGL, Hansberry
Morreti
Only tier that I can see complaining is the Harris, DGL, Hansberry Tier. But if you are young, earn it.

I think we're going to be playing Coleman at the 5 more than we did last year. I think Dain's minutes will suffer. He may only play 12-14 minutes per game this year, after averaging 21 last season.

In the old days this game would have been on B10 network.

I guess the B10+ network is the price we pay for $60M/year per school b10 payout.

I wish somebody would come up with simple ppv system where I could just pay $5 to view the game.

FYI- I use Youtube TV, Netflix, Amazon Prime and DisneyPlus.
Or $9.95/month to view everything Illini on BTN+.

For Harris and Dainja it's simply a product of not being able to shoot and roster flexibility. Rodgers appears to be locked in at the starting pg and he also can't shoot and it's pretty hard to play Rodgers and Harris at the same time.

Dainja is also just way less versatile than guys like Hawkins and Guerrier. Honestly, kind of expect Dainja to lose time to Hansberry as the season progresses and possibly transfer out after.

Even if Dainja loses minutes this year, there appear to be plenty next year. The only bigs I'm seeing on the roster are Dainja, Morez and Hansberry. Even if Morez and Hansberry play 30m/game, that leaves 20m for Dainja.

I think there's a big question mark as to if Dainja has the patience to see if he'll get those minutes back next year or if he departs for presumed greener pastures.
Although if I'm not mistaken, he'd be required to sit out a year if he transfers again.

We don't know that for sure. The portal could come into play again.

Also parent drama wouldn't lead to chemistry issues. Chemistry was fine with Miller as he loved it here.
That makes me even more sad about what happened to him after he left. Hopefully his mom realizes that she made it worse for her son.

Being logical isn't the best way to forecast whether a guy will stay or not. Lotta factors influence how they feel. JMO, but seems like the staff has learned a lot about how they want to construct a roster. Despite that, they won't always be able to keep the 'next up' group happy.

Problem with Dainja isn't Dainja it is where the game is going. Hawkins in the perimeter can score and makes the opposing Big vulnerable if they are a traditional center. Hope Dainja get much more minutes, believe he had a strong season last year. Give him minutes and he will produce.

Would think minutes for Sencire and Dain would depend heavily on matchups so would vary greatly from game to game.

The portal can allow you to 'get well' in a hurry. In her last year, Fahey (women's basketball) went 1-13 in conference. The next year, Green's first, we went 11-7. The roster in Green's first year looked like this: https://fightingillini.com/sports/womens-basketball/stats
Transfers on that roster included Cook, Bryant, Bostic, Shoup-Hill, Rhodes and a couple players further down the bench. In her second year she snagged both Hobby and Bollin from the portal and they will play significant roles.

Equal number of good teams and bad teams with the portal.

I think last year MBB proved getting the right people from the portal is key. TSJ was a win. MM not so much.

NIL is also mixed bag - Skyy was a bust and evidently Jayden wanted the moon based on his freshman performance.

$ 7.00 a month if you select the annual mode.........

Another potential variation: If your main reason for getting BIG+ is hoops, could consider picking a Sport option (picking Basketball gets you all BIG+ men's and women's basketball content for all schools) instead of a School option. Downside is you don't have access to non-basketball Illini content.

They only offered an annual single Sport option for $54.99 which works out to $4.58/month. Like being able to see other schools bb content, plus the Illini women's team has around 20 games on BIG+ this season.

Wish I'd known that before signing up this year, but thanks, good to know for next time. Think I'd enjoy watching other conference teams now and then.

Anyone here buying a one month subscription to big10+. Is it worth it? I can handle the $9.99 for three games, but i wonder if the quality of the games will be something i want to watch. Then there’s the hassle of cancelling.

Lol...if logging on to the world wide web and clicking a few buttons while sitting on your rumpus is a hassle....you must have an easy breezy life!
