Recap of attendance for Penn State:
My official guess was 48,920 and actual announced attendance was 49,099, for a difference of 179...yeah, I'll take that.

Looking ahead to Florida Atlantic:
I'll be honest, I feel really in the dark this week. The tickets website actually does not have that many available tickets for sale (e.g. in the Horseshoe there are a grand total of 33 tickets available for purchase....), but I'm highly skeptical that some of the sections that had several hundred unsold seats for Penn State are nearly sold out for FAU. Instead, it's probable that there are dozens of rows of unsold seats that are being held back from the website as of now. There's no fool proof way to have the ticket tracker account for that, so I have to use judgment in assuming which rows are likely 100% unsold and not showing as available for sale.

Regardless, this week's Memorial Stadium Sellout Watch is currently showing an estimated 44,979 tickets sold. This is about 2,000 less than the tracker had for Penn State a week out from the game. Again, I tend to doubt that gameday attendance for FAU will be pushing 47,000 -- at this point I think the 43,000-45,000 range is more likely. I'll keep an eye on the movement of tickets throughout the week and will revise that guess as appropriate.

Edit: As I type this, I see that next Saturday is Band Day where high school marching bands are coming to perform. I'm not 100% how that impacts attendance/ticket availability, but probably safe to assume that an additional ~750-1,000 spectators will be there.

Tom Herman is a very easy coach to heckle.
Just got done reading the other thread, so excuse this jumping into my mind, but if Mel Tucker has some character questions, Tom Herman is, just as questionable? One of my friends was on staff at UT with Herman and he consistently referred to Herman as an “overgrown frat boy” while detailing specifically what he would be doing in staff meetings that was in no way related to football. He would have no axe to grind because Herman both recruited him out of HS then gave him a job. That said, for those there, please heckle him.

Fighting Illini vs FAU Owls. We need to take out our frustrations with this season and spank them Hooters. Yes, I went there, but I was referring to the sound those birds make when frightened.

I popped on the Board to give Mr. NEWTON some love. Mel Kiper on espn, stating he'll be 1st D tackle off the board next draft. 10 to 15 range.

Had 4 NFL GMs and about 15 scouts assure me that if Newton produces like he did against PSU or anything close to it and does what he is capable of at the combine ... He will be a NO DOUBT top 10 pick ...

I had 3 guys describe him to me as Deforest Buckner type of guy impact wise at the next level ...

We need a confidence boosting game , not an arrogant pride building game to propell the team forward rest of the season. Show them what they can be, not what the press says they are. I would like a shut out.

I want to see more youth play this week but throughout the whole game and in a blowout win. Feagin, Elzy, Beatty, Wilcher, Laughery, etc and throw them into the mix not just in junk time.

Throw some sets the D doesn't see coming. Even throw a basic split back formation with Love and Laughery in the backfield and keep the D honest by throwing to either. Illinois has played some tough teams so far. JMO but Lunney Jr gets vanilla at times in play calling and think this team has more firepower at RB and WR than it has shown so far.
