I missed it when I was growing up in Champaign (I was a Seaboat loyalist), but a Harold's just opened next door to where I work in Carbondale, now I'm a big fan.

This is less about Iowa and more about Frank. But it was against Iowa and I like to watch it every so often anyway. Figured it was worth posting again.

We will lean heavily on Kofi to hold his own against Garza. Kofi will need to have that energy from the start and actually guard the 3 point line where Garza is shooting nearly 50%! This will allow everyone else to stick close to their responsibilities and prevent open shots from 3. Pray that we can do all these things AND rebound AND have our offense moving because it's going to take all of that for us to win.

Really want to see Ayo dictate things on offense. This is a game where he can really elevate his draft stock.

As mentioned this is a good opportunity for Ayo and Kofi to strengthen their draft status. Ayo at this point is projected on most sports sites to be drafted anywhere from 15-20 in the 1st round. Kofi on the other hand is projected middle to late 2nd round. To be an effective player in the league he has to show he can guard on the perimeter and he also has to develop a mid-range shot, the days of running offenses through centers in the post are pretty a anomaly in today's NBA, the only player I saw over 7 ft. in the 1st round was a guy from Barcelona and he was a stretch 4/5 and was known for shooting 3s.
They were good....think the best team that I can remember was the Dalton Thornridge team I believe 1971...Buckner, Batts and company were very good

I hope Iowa isn't hot tonight from 3. It will be alot of trouble if they are. This game scares me because how we beat them down last year. they will want to destroy us. With that said, I think we win 87-83. GO ILLINI!

Watching an Iowa “classic” from Feb 83 on BIG Network. But man, great memories of Harper, Welch, Leonard, Montgomery and the dynamic Frosh duo of Douglas and Winters.
If only Harper and Welch were on the team the following season. Would have been one of the best in Illini history.

I didn't mean beat them down on the scoreboard...I mean beat them down in the "fighting" during and after the game. They obviously both don't like each other as everyone here knows that. I do with we could have the Orange Krush tonight. State Farm Center would have been rocking tonight!!
