Been a common phrase out of media lately. Not sure that's what we want to be known for.Jess Settles looking forward to this game because "this Illini team likes to talk a lot of trash?" WTF?? Wasn't it the Iowa punk McCaffrey kid who started the stuff last year? Come on, Jess! Just when I was beginning to find you tolerable! Man I hope we beat these guys!
I'm guessing that's coming from opposing coaches to the B10 network talking heads. Any advantage you can try to get I guess...but I agree not a rep we need.Been a common phrase out of media lately. Not sure that's what we want to be known for.
Absolutely, 3-1 it is!Buckle up. The tough stretch of the 20-21 season starts now.
I'm assuming we are unable to schedule any make-up games prior to the 29th. If true, we need to go 2-2 vs Iowa, Indiana, Wisconsin and Michigan.
3-1 would be nice!! According to Underwood they are going to try and get a non conf game in, would expect to play someone this weekendBuckle up. The tough stretch of the 20-21 season starts now.

Or play like next Tuesday. Iowa has a game Thursday.I don’t understand Underwood’s explanation of the cascading effect of schedule changes as reason not to move up the Iowa game.
No reason to waste a weekend with Iowa and Illinois both sitting. Play them this weekend, and have the following weekend open to possibly accommodate other postponements. A lot can happen in 10 days; might as well play the game now if you can.
Also, would the B10 rather Illinois and Iowa schedule a lesser conference game and risk possible exposure by breaking the B10 bubble?

I kind of doubt BU wants that game right now either. We have a tough stretch coming up. He'd probably take a team like St. John's, but I wouldn't want to play Tech with our schedule right now.Texas Tech with two postponements in a row due to opponents (today and Sat). I know it's a pipe dream, but it would be amazing to sneak them in this weekend.
Absolutely. I'm not hoping for that as an Illinois fan. I'm hoping for it as a fan of exciting college basketball.I kind of doubt BU wants that game right now either. I'm ok with Iowa breaking some rules, or not being allowed to play in the post-season.Because Iowa played it's full non-con schedule and an extra game against us would be considered non conference, not counting in the B1G standings.
It would put them over the NCAA mandated 27 game limit.
Play Utah Valley 1/23, Illinois 1/25 and DePaul 1/27 ?? Not sure what Utah Valley testing protocols are and that might eliminate St. John's as an opponent by proxy??St Johns just scheduled Utah Valley for 1/23 so they are out as a possibility
Has any team this season had any luck slowing down Garza this season, i.e. 18 points instead of 26, 6 rebound instead of 10.
Any thoughts on how to accomplish this?
KC has a pretty decent game against him the end of last season didn't he???
Garza was 28/8 vs. us in that game. Kofi was 12/8 with one very key block. They both had four fouls. Garza played 40 minutes to Kofi's 25. No one has really stopped Garza this year. NW has slowed him a little holding him to 18/6 and 17/10 in their two meetings.
