Even if we win, will it be because we’re “pissed off” about the PSU loss?? After we beat Iowa, will we not be “pissed off” enough to show up vs. Minnesota?!

I’m starting to become really worried that the main difference between last year’s erratic team that was never going anywhere in March is a less toxic locker room and Domask. In other words, that’s good for a slightly better record, but the mental consistency all 40 minutes every game just isn’t in our DNA.

And that last part is sad, because even elite teams like the 2005 team are off in the Tournament. It’s mental toughness that gets you through those games, and it feels like this is a team that will fold.

I am ridiculously tired of people saying this after every loss. At a certain point you have to realize there's more to it than that.

Regular season conference championship is a pipe dream at this point.

This team needs to decide if they care or not defensively. We’re so freakin, soft.

Showing up well against a good Iowa offense should be goals 1-100. I think our defensively style plays well in the Iowa game, but I’m in believe it when I see it mode with this D

Feels like we lose control of the game after the other team finds a single matchup advantage to exploit and then we can't adjust. Namely, small quick guards that can get into the lane at will. Which is bad because many tournament teams have that small guy who goes off in March

The silver lining is I am way less invested emotionally in the remainder of this season now. We aren't winning the B1G. We aren't going on some magical March run.
They can get hot and win two or three....maybe four...but I think that is it. Unless there is a HUGE defensive change in the last month. Unlikely.
That's the reality of this team now....so the games are not as emotional.

No lessons learned. They are who they are. They'll win in a tight game, whereas, a blowout would be preferable.

This is an overreaction. the defense is in shambles but there is still enough there to go on a deep run. There needs to be major adjustments though

Maybe by Saturday I'll change my mind, but I think I need to quit this team for a while.

Stay with me here... we are Iowa in the Garza years: nearly top in the country on offense, can't defend.

And the most frustrating thing about it is how good we were on defense earlier in the season (even earlier in the B1G season).

Yep, the world didn't end when we lost to Maryland at our own place even though the post game thread was pretty much like this one.
But each loss is crossing off seeds we could have potentially gotten and conference championships we could have won … each additional loss is exponentially worse in that regard. After dominating Braggin’ Rights, a #1 seed was a lofty but not outlandish goal. Since then, we played ourselves into a situation where a #2 was our absolute ceiling and “par” is a #4. With that loss, we likely blew our shot at a Big Ten title and now need to win out for a shot to get off the 4/5 seed line. :(

Still think 4-1 and you have a shot at a 3 depending on the BTT. Need to get these next two obviously
