Get paper tickets. When you order tickets from the Illinois ticket office on the internet, you can have them mail you paper tickets. I feel more secure than having them in my phone…and there’s the definite souvenir aspect.

I think you get paper tickets when you buy ticket s at the Assembly Hall.
Definitely agree with paper tickets. My brother in law had a ticket on his phone last year at homecoming and had connection issues. He couldn’t get in until half time. (That was actually a blessing in disguise last year against Wisconsin.)

You know if you have an electronic ticket you can download it and store it in Wallet or PassBook ahead of time. This isn't a technology problem - this is a user problem. And if you want paper tickets just buy season tickets. It's cheaper and you can get some nice parking passes.

Yeah… but I still have to pay my butler $3000 for staying at my mansion and not actually doing any butlering while I’m gone. Sure, I could bring him with me, but then that’s another five to ten grand in temporary security I’ll need to hire with no one there except two maids, a gardening team and my personal astrologer. I scoff at your scoffing.

The streak to continue: No touchdowns allowed at home.
The way the Iowa offense is plodding along, this looks very doable.

As far as attendance, I can see 50k to as much as 55k.
Heck, 10k will probably be Iowa fans curious to witness the magic that is Fighting Illini football this season.

3. Statistics aside, it's not an outrageous price for college football tickets. I want our program to have financial backing. I think your season tickets package for the rest of the season idea is great. However, I am not in favor of them doing it at a lower price. Rather, a higher avg per game price, but with new incentives
If we have unsold seats, I think it’s a perfect time to open the doors to more season ticket sales - as you mention, $128 for the remain8ng games would STILL be a great deal, would put more fanes in the seats, generate additional revenue, and build a relationship with those fans that purchased them for future sales of season tickets.

If there is demand for season tickets and we have 20,000+ unsold seats . . . Hmmmm, and interesting master’s thesis topic for some enterprising MBA candidate . . . .

So , the scoff off continues unabated by an official ending as we know it .......where will this end......is this a stalemate scoff off or are the parties manuvering
for a better position to finally end this situation..........

I will be asking the pertinent questions and hopefully espn will get involved as this is right up their alley in hard hitting journalistic fodder that they have devolved theirselves into......

With all the drama and lawsuits and firings here at CNN , this might be the story to follow and try to change the narrative here.....A scoff off ....now that's some news that I never thought I would be covering but it intrigue's me somewhat................

That decline from '67-'70 is brutal. Am amazed that Moeller's 1-9-1 season in '79 managed to draw an average 46k.

Illinois is the 2nd or 3rd most expensive ticket in the B1G…..Heggemeyer isn’t very good at his job
I think I've found the problem...

Yeah, “shut up and pay the $75” isn’t working….
If that same tweet can be posted tomorrow at noon and still be true someone(s) failed miserably.

I would hope/expect an email or announcement for some package to be announced by tomorrow morning.

It's silly to just count on Illinois fans; we've been collectively got one too many times in football over the years. And (this year at least) I'd say it's silly to count on Iowa fans as they haven't looked worthy of a 3.5 hour drive (plus $75+ tickets as well as hotel).

My hypothesis is that attendance is more strongly correlated to on-field performance vs price. They could give tickets away for $5 but if people don't believe in the team, why devote an entire Saturday to go to a game you could just watch more comfortably at your house?

We're really not competing with other schools/stadiums since we're the only show in town. We're competing with TVs, which means the experience at the stadium has to be exponentially better than the experience at home- regardless of price. And having a good team to cheer for is like 75% of that experience.

I think what we're seeing right now is evidence of the fact that when your main promotional strategy is discounts and bundles, people will wait to buy your product until they're offered a deal. Not a sustainable strategy long term if you're trying to build a valuable brand.
