Per Siri just now, “ The odds favor Illinois by three and a half points.”

Wasn’t How We Do At Wisconsin that was supposed to define how the rest of the season would go? I seem to remember that, but I could be and likely am wrong.
Ideally, each game is just a game. You go into each week with that game being the only game. To me it was "How well we do in the next four game stretch of Wisc, Iowa, Minn, & Neb." I thought a win vs Iowa was a lot more likely than winning in Camp Randall, and a very good outcome in that four-game stretch would be two wins. Winning the first of those four games? Blew ma mind. If we beat Iowa then we have two wins in the four-game span and we're playing with house money. And the Illini are getting BETTER each week (please don't regress). Here's to solid win. Let's just destroy Iowa at home.

Went searching to make a joke about a bunch of us getting a suite, then took a detour into dynamic pricing (both per opponent and per location), then finally ended up scratching my head as to why Virginia is still on the website. Perhaps those calling for our Marketing folks' heads are not far off.

Maybe you can rent a suite and watch the replay? Have to get revenue wherever possible.

I took a look at the Iowa message board. Seems there's trouble brewing down on the bird farm. Many are off the Kirk Firenz bandwagon, and think he and his outdated unimaginative offense need to go. Some are openly rooting for him to lose to us and several more B10 teams to torpedo him. Others honestly believe they have little chance of beating the Illini. Frustration is off the charts, but Firenz apparently has 7 years left on his contract and a whopping $42 million buyout after this season if their fans are correct. They are afraid they are stuck, and figure Firenz is too set in his ways to ever adapt to the modern game.

Who's Firenz? Is that Kirk Ferentz's long lost cousin?

If you are looking at theirs, you know they are looking at ours. So they are probably going be talking about us talking about what they’re talking about. And then we can talk about that.

Looks like they’re still giving out good deals despite the high ticket prices… I think I might have to take them up on this offer!

Finally. They could’ve added 4 days of ticket sales if they just listened to this board‘s advice last Sunday.

Listen DIA, people on this board posses an insane level of fandom to be this present during the horrible seasons. If “we” think prices are too high - prices are too high.

What is it with the fixation with Kansas? They’re 2 states away and in a different conference. Is it just because they used to be bad and now have seemingly turned the corner like the Illini? Not sure that warrants the other comparisons. But I’ve seen Kansas mentioned more in this thread than combined in 3 thread drifts about Bill Self leaving in the basketball topic section.
I suspect it’s what you suggested plus Kansas getting more “national” (ESPN) attention than the beloved, so they’re perceived as a step ahead in the rebuild.

Question about parking passes for the game on Saturday. Do I need to buy in advance online, or do they have drive-up purchases? Online is anywhere from $35-200 currently. If their is drive-up, what is the price?

I continue to be amused by the way people act like this is a mechanical 1:1 relationship with the results of the games.

Lose by 3 points, 5,000 extra fans, but lose by 7 points, only 3,000 extra.

As a "young" (😬) Chicago alum the biggest issues scheduling this are people's babies, the game time and whether we need to get a hotel or not, and other preexisting commitments.

Looking like it's going to happen this weekend though, see y'all at Kams!
I hope you don’t expect Kam’s to show the game. When I was there for the Virginia game, an SEC game and the Iowa game were on but no Illini. I asked the bartender to put it on. After 10 minutes of attempts and discussions with co-workers, he came back and said, “We don’t get that channel. That tells you how bad we suck at football.” I wanted to jump over the bar, but pretty sure there would have been 3 hits. Him hitting me, me hitting the ground, and him hitting me one more time just to show off to his friends.

I think everything you have here makes sense. In fact, you're kind of nudging me toward the "do whatever you gotta do to get butts in seats" camp. Heck, offer free entry to the tailgate lots with proof of a ticket.
Still not sure if it's the right business move. But oh well. Not my chair, not my problem.
I still think if students want basketball tickets, those who attended football games get first dibs.

You can pay at the gate with credit card. $25.

I’m guessing most fans such as yourself who purchased tickets weeks ago feel the same way as you. It’s the more casual fans who decided to purchase 2 tickets this Monday and now see they could get 4 tickets for less than they paid for their two who might be pissed. And I can see their point to an extent. But who said life is fair, and hopefully the enhanced atmosphere of having a sold out or near sold out stadium makes up for it.

Beat them Hawkeyes.
Pretty much a 100 per cent possibility that the stranger in the airline seat next to you paid either (considerably) more or less than you did for your seat.

Can anyone find the link through the ticket office? It used to be in the app but it's super buggy

Part of the reason, quite frankly, that it feels different is because it is different. It seems like hump games in the past featured better opponents than the two coming up. so the task looks much more doable.
Not to mention, the recent “big wins,” 2019 Wisconsin, 2020 MSU, and 2021 PSU, were fun wins but each was a fluke — 2 come from behind miracles on last second plays and 1 barge offense/7 O-T fluke. Our dismantling of Wiscy last week sure get different than those.

I feel like the PSU game showed a glimmer where we were competitive all game (still needed some magic to win). The Minnesota win was the first one in a while where it truly felt like we won the game straight up.
