I just remember the final TV TO at the end of the game v. Top 10 MSU in early Feb 2019. We were 3-8. BU looked at the guys in the huddle with the game tied and said "this is a program-defining moment." And it was. Ayo knocked down his two treys and we won it at the line. That, and the win over MD at MSG a week earlier, was Jan. 1, Year 1 for me.
Well all right then. We just gotta run a few plays for him early until he gets his 4 and we can just coast to victory after that!Fun fact I just discovered:
Illinois is 14-0 when damonte scores 4+ points.
Let's hope he can build off the PSU game and start being a threat on that end of the floor.
Just a heads-up it might be my birthday meal...I do like ribeyes..but surprise me.undecided , as of yet .....gummy bears are influencing me tonight .....that , and of course NL # 3.....she is prancing around and all thoughts of a pregame meal went out the window .....Will update tomorrow for the 6:30 pm CT tip off.................
Cover is down...look out for the lazer eyes!
We tieSo if Illinois wins and Wisconsin loses how does Wisconsin get the Conference if Illinois won the head to head matchup?
Illinois and Wisconsin would share the B1G title in this case because they will have the same record and win percentage. The head to head matchup and other tie-breakers only matters for conference tournament seeding. So if Illinois wins and Wisconsin loses how does Wisconsin get the Conference if Illinois won the head to head matchup?
And I don't have any gummies.Just a heads-up it might be my birthday meal...I do like ribeyes..but surprise me.
Start the countdown now at 10 more wins! How about we just win out the rest of the year!!
Agreed. That sparty game was also when Dakich said "this won't end well for Illinois" and then ayo nailed a 3. I most likely shed some tears after this gameI just remember the final TV TO at the end of the game v. Top 10 MSU in early Feb 2019. We were 3-8. And what’s even better is darn near everything has gone well for us since then.Agreed. That sparty game was also when Dakich said "this won't end well for Illinois" and then ayo nailed a 3. I most likely shed some tears after this game
We could have used him vs Penn State. I think he would've been in. They were daring DMW and Coleman to shoot going 4 of 14. 4 hit by DMW. RJ provides quickness and shooting we need and especially if Jake's out.I like RJ as much as the next guy, but he was only averaging 9 minutes a game over the previous five games before he went down with his injury. I agree he could provide a spark off the bench, but that's about it.
I've liked what I've seen progressively from each of the freshman this season. I've liked the coachability of the sophomores (BBV & CoHawk). I like what I see of our incoming talent. The man has built a culture of toughness, tenacity, and success. He doesn't accept sub-par efforts on even a single possession offense or defense. They young guys have clearly bought in and they can't possibly have had better role models than Trent and DMW. I feel confident about what's to come. The only question is who will step forward and lead on the floor. It's hard to imagine what life is going to be like after these seniors. As has been said time and again they have set the tone for the success of this program and we wouldn't be where we are dreaming of conference titles without them. BU has never coached a game at Illinois without Trent and Damonte so it will be interesting to see how the other guys respond without them in the program. I hope their tenacity and drive has sparked the next guys to play with that same competitive fire.
It's also important for another reason: Iowa. This game is sooooooooooo important for one reason.....momentum.
Hey Altgeld...what's with the Indiana symbol? It's also important for another reason: Iowa.
"The first student to be awarded an architectural degree in the U.S., alumnus Nathan Ricker led architecture studies at Illinois. He also created the Ricker symbol, which can be found as a mosaic on the 4th floor of Engineering Hall and on door plates in Altgeld Hall."Hey Altgeld...what's with the Indiana symbol?
That's not IU. As my DC compadre, The Galloping Ghost, notes, it's a variant of the U of I Ricker Symbol. My avatar photo is from the floor mosaic in the entrance foyer of Altgeld Hall, the mathematics building behind the Alma Mater sculpture.Hey Altgeld...what's with the Indiana symbol?
My brother is a die-hard Iowa fan and grad. We don't talk basketball during the season, only Cubs.
