We actually beat them two seasons ago (and only played once in College Park last year), no? But it was way closer than it should have been.

I would love, for once, to just annihilate them.

I would love for twice to annihilate them this season. Particularly here in DC Feb 17.

I want the 1984 boot-stomping-on-the-face-of-humanity-forever treatment x 2.

So, altgeld88 and I will be at the game in College Park, and another friend (not Illini) is going along. He said he wants his son (Middle School) to go because he loves basketball. I asked if he wanted to sit with us, and my friend said that he is getting his son and his son's friend tickets away from us...I believe he is protecting the kids from being with two guys wearing Illini gear, which is a smart move at that place.

Since we can't get tickets to the Penn State game because the Nittany Lions don't want to take on the Illini in a gym much bigger than Huff, I need to talk my wife into going to Maryland instead.

Please grab this win. I'm so over having to hear it from my Terp friends.
Read the Testudo Times postgame thread for their game @ Minnesota if you want a chuckle. The wailing and rending of garments is hilarious. Willard is now worse than Turge, apparently. The football program is more stable and has greater potential. Seton Hall fans were glad to be rid of him and MD made a huge mistake in hiring him (TBF, a Rutgers fan at the RAC, who said he holds SH season tiks, told us exactly that at the Illini game in early December.)

It's a hoot.

I hope they keep losing so by the time we play them here next month the fans have given up.

The absolute hatred they had for Turgeon will never make sense to me. The guy was 24-7 and won the league a season and a half before they ran him out of town. They have such an over-inflated sense of self. With all due respect, you're just Maryland. Juan Dixon, Lonny Baxter, and Chris Wilcox aren't walking through that door. You caught lightning in a bottle once over 20 years ago. You're a competitive, but not an elite program. It's okay. But hey, you're now reaping what you've sowed.

Agree completely. It's a strange place. They had an inferiority complex for decades in the ACC v. Duke and Carolina (and even Virginia). Gary Williams was a great coach but, as you note, that class he had that won the NC was truly special and one-off. The sense of entitlement they have is baffling. I make the same point about Turge and his performance in the BT to Terp fans I know, to no avail.
