As the recent point-shaving case highlights the pervasiveness of gambling within college sports, I'm not sure how coaches (ours included) can continue to get away with completely concealing injury information. There are always people around a program who know a player's true status and it's naive to think that some of them aren't exploiting that knowledge.
Of course, I'm not sure modern medicine has ever developed a healing elixir like an upcoming game with the Illini. There are even some versions of the Bible that explain the miracle of Lazarus by saying his team was scheduled to play us the next night.
Imo b1g front loaded the schedule and scheduled the perceived leaders in 2nd half of the schedule2025-26 stands out to me.
I can't recall another season --- dating back to our initial rise under Lou Henson --- in which the top conference teams have somehow avoided playing each other for the entire first half of the season. We're no exception, of course, with just the one game at home vs. NEB. What's happened so far, you ask?
-- ILL lost at home to NEB
-- MSU lost in Lincoln to NEB
That's it. Period.
There sure are going to be a lot of monster games coming up when all of the undefeated and 1-loss teams start playing one another. Next one on the BigTen schedule is 3:00pm eastern next Saturday in West Lafayette. No others from now through Sunday evening.
Beat the Terps!

Just like we didn’t anticipate the Wagler production, b1g didn’t anticipate the Nebraska results.
Purdue, Michigan, illlinois and Michigan st were all expected to be among the leaders. Not a coincidence all games are scheduled later in the conference schedule.
I remember when they started having some games on Wednesday nights and I was like “WHOA!!”Valid.
For the first 25-30 years of this 45 year time frame, schedules were essentially geography-based. All of the Big 10 teams traveled in pairs and played two-game stints throughout the season (predominantly on Thursday nights and then Saturday afternoons):
The Traveling Partners:
Mich/MSU
ILL/Purd
OSU/Ind
NW/Iowa
Wisc/Minn
Rutg/PSU
I think they did away with the traveling partners when Penn State joined the league, bringing the total number of teams to an uneven eleven. Rutgers joined with Maryland after Nebraska brought us to an even twelve.Valid.
