I'm seeing -5.

-6 is about where I can square it with the Penn State line in my head.

Is this late bit of movement because everyone now sees that we made a total nobody in Ryan Browne look like a superstar?

could be. A concern of mine is whoever the Michigan qb is will have a career game. Seems to happen a lot but maybe that’s looking through orange glasses. I don’t think so though. Go illini

Today is a major test for Aaron Henry. Xavier Scott is back, at home, against an anemic, one-dimensional offense.

We are out-talented in the trenches and there's no point pretending otherwise, but the defense ought to be able to keep us in the game.

If we get boat raced today questions will be asked.

My dad took me to the Michigan game at Memorial Stadium which finished with a 3-3 tie.
We were right behind the goal post for Chris White's potentially game winning kick as time expired. After hitting the top of the crossbar, the kick hung in the air for what seemed like an eternity only to bounce out for the tie.

It's been a couple of weeks now where we couldn't stop the run and there's been a couple of weeks where we could run the ball. That's a bad combination and I think that we have a lot of season on tape. Michigan will try to establish the run and ground and pound and until we can prove that we can stop it. Mullings is an absolute beast.

Michigan. 31
Good guys: 17

If we can get them into third and longs and have their QB have to beat us with his arm(not allowing him to tuck and run):

Illinois 17
Michigan. 14

The x factor is obviously turnovers. If we lose that statistic, it will be a rough, rough game.

As bad as Michigan's QB is, they still have elite athletes at every position and outside of QB, we won't have an advantage at any position. We are slow in a lot of areas with LBs being right at the center of that. That can't be lost in all of this.

Fingers crossed. I'm hoping, but I'm not expecting.

I was there as a 10 year old in 1983 for our 16-6 win over Michigan. I vividly remember the goal posts coming down. How awesome would it be to do that again? I've been known to be a bit clairvoyant. We will win this one by 2 TDs at least. Bet on it.

Hammer meet nail. If we can't at least have a stalemate here, we are indeed going to get boat raced. There's absolutely no defensive coordinator in the world that can overcome getting blasted off the ball play after play. It puts the rest of the defense in an impossible situation. If we're relegated to blitzing, I don't care how bad the QB is....you're prone to quick passes, screens, etc and then if the QB gets out of the pocket...forget it. This is how Purdue dropped 49 on us.

Aside from getting blown out, my nightmare scenario for today is Ohio State 2011. Their SINGLE COMPLETED PASS that day still haunts me.
They must have had 10 3rd-and-long conversions on Braxton Miller scrambles/design draws that day. It was unbelievable.

That said, honestly, a close loss would upgrade my view of this team and make me look positively on our last four games, where the truth is going to be revealed about where we are.

Chills. I had the good fortune to spend all four undergrad years looking out my window across Peabody Drive down through Memorial Stadium to the spaceship dome. Monuments and palaces of sport both of them. Wish I could be there today. Hope BB played that ESPN tape for the boys last night.

Also comforting to see that the East Coast sportswriters were as myopic and parochial about their work in 1924 as they were in 2005 when they dismissed our Illini. And that Grange went to Philly and crammed the ball down their throats.

It’s 5-1/2 hrs to kickoff. Can’t wait. I was there in 2000 when the Illini were robbed. Revenge today on national TV. :illinois:
Hearing about the 30 trains coming from Chicago reminds me that it would be amazing to have a special train or two for every home game from Union Station to Champaign.

North side. I couldn't tell until you all groaned on your end.

Or answered pretty emphatically.

I have zero faith in the DL. I think they would rank in the bottom of the MAC. Unfortunately I see michigan running at will today.

31-17 Michigan

Honestly, I am expecting a win. But I definitely am not worried about the Oregon game...
