Chicago
12:20 for the Illini Walk through Grange Grove. There are a few food trucks inside Grange Grove too. There will be a huge crowd there, though, so expect lines. There are a couple pay lots both east and west of the stadium. If you want free parking I suggest Hessel which is 6 or 8 blocks west of the stadium.
Thanks !

I did steel construction in the summers. You spend all summer sitting on hot steel with a welder or a torch wearing leathers and then go back to school to sit in an air conditioned classroom and you feel so spoiled. And you get to spend all semester reading books? Yeah, that made for a nice change of pace, and I don't take my office work for granted now either. My dad told me all about his tour in Viet Nam, and I thank you for your service. He still has stories but he hated two things the worst... the oppressive heat/humidity and the dust. He just hated the dust getting into everything. My daughter's tuition this year is slightly higher than what you paid.
Steel work would be unbelievable. My three children (all in their 40's now) chose to go to private school where their school costs were roughly 15 times mine a generation earlier...
The threat of the draft kept me in school and the lottery system kept me out of Viet Nam. Your dad is to be honored for serving! I was not a protester then, but I look back 60 years later and wonder what the heck we were doing there.
Our great education was a steal at the cost we paid....

By Anderson Kimball Decatur (Ill.) Herald & Review

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — When Illinois hosts Michigan State on Saturday, the Illini will go up against a depleted Spartans defense.
After a postgame incident in the tunnel after Michigan State’s loss to in-state rival Michigan, the Spartans suspended eight players. That included five players who have started a game this season.
“I don’t think they’re going to change anything schematically, but we kind of just play who plays on Saturday and figure it out from there,” Illinois coach Bret Bielema said.
The biggest loss for the Spartans is edge rusher Jacoby Windmon. Windmon leads the FBS in forced fumbles with six and leads the Big Ten with 11 tackles for loss. He also has 6.5 sacks in eight games this season.
Starting safety Angelo Grose is also suspended along with other rotational players.

That means an opportunity for the Illinois (7-1, 6-1 Big Ten) offense that has been minimizing turnovers over the past couple of weeks to pair with its impressive running game. Illinois has just one turnover over the past two games, and its passing offense has improved in efficiency and will go up against a unit without its top pass rusher and a safety.

Might be the first to report from the tailgate lots, but this heavy rain and wind is worse than I imagined. Came up from Ficklin through Tuscola and Pesotum and it wasn’t pretty.

Should clear up rain-wise by game time but tailgating will not be optimal. Going back to bed in our camper, hoping the Cialis kicks in and then prepping the hog (the animal we will eat not the euphemism) for a great day.

Super random but I never realized that former Punter Blake Hayes is the grand nephew of former WWF announcer Lord Alfred Hayes!

Temp will be dropping during the game also, so bring some warm gear!

Thanks for the update. I’ll be there soon and will come looking for your hog (the animal you will eat not the euphemism).

Hmmm, that would leave NL # 2 looking for a way to fill her day in Paducah while the 3 of you are gone. Road Trip!
Only two NL's right now.......Hosting another candidate this weekend and auditioned someone last week.......NL's recruiting is fluid....lots of fluids.....

It really really is..........................

I'm cautiously feeling good about today, but I'll never forget Michigan beating us in their practice jerseys either.
