And if you get lazy, there is a bus that runs from the garage at university and Goodwin down Goodwin to gregory (stops at the ceramics building just north of green) which then proceeds almost directly to the stadium (east side along 4th st). It's $2 with the return trip included
Looks like the deck is also free on Saturdays?

I think attendance is going to start climbing. People are jumping on the bandwagon. its a shame the Michigan game is on the road but anything is possible.

1999 Kittner and crew win 35-29. Beat the GOAT - Tom Brady- Illinois was down 27-7 with 6 minutes to go in Q3.

1993 Johnny Johnson / Simeon Rice leads 2nd half comeback in Ann Arbor 24-21

Very cool to see these tapes. I remember watching both of these games with Michigan fans.
They still give me chills. Very nice.

I was just thinking it is surprising that they have not had a "stripe-out" announced for either Michigan State or Purdue. I don't love (or hate) that gimmick, but it still surprises me, lol.
I'd really like to see a stripe-out on a national attention game, but the problem with doing it at Illinois in November is that not enough people have orange jackets to make the orange sections look strong. Maybe next year when we open the B1G home schedule, on Sep. 16th, against Penn State would be a good time to dial up stripe-the-stadium.

When Bielema was hired, I was cautiously optimistic. But in the back of my mind I was doubtful he could turn this program around given the complete hole it was in. In the second season, in what was expected to be a step BACK from last season, he has wildly exceeded any and all expectations I had. We are very fortunate to have him as a coach, connecting with our players the way he is. He comes across as absolutely genuine in his appreciation for the position he is in. Recruits and their families have to be taking notice of this. Again, we are very fortunate he is leading the program and has assembled the staff that he has; if we are able to hold on to him for several years we will be extremely happy with our program for many years to come!
Bielema is here for the duration.

I can’t remember the last season I’ve just been desperate for the next Illini game to get here! I’ve been so jealous of fans of “football schools” for so long, and I gotta say … it’s awesome!

I absolutely love that my next several weekends will totally revolve around Illini football! Can’t wait for a packed Memorial Stadium on Saturday and another W!

That’s what we do too. It’s 1.7 miles each way and there’s no pre or post game traffic whatsoever. Swing thru Campustown in one direction and down the Quad the other. Lots of parking options if you enjoy a walk.
We tailgate across for Grange Grove each game but... if I were looking for free parking I'd think about parking at or near the Campbell Alumni Center. MTD picks up from there (and several other spots) for $2 transport to Memorial Stadium. https://mtd.org/maps-and-schedules/routes/280-transport-urbana/ Dunno if that helps the guy that originally asked. Parking at Campbell is limited but free on weekends.

I pray this ages well

Dear Lord Baby Jesus, I want to thank you for this wonderful season, my two beautiful assistants, Walters and Lunney Jr, and my red-hot smokin' wife, Jen.

If we were to have another Indiana-esque dud game this is the one to do it. We need to beat Purdue to win the West, I really want to give Michigan a game in Ann Arbor, and I definitely need to see a beatdown of the kitty kat's.

So I'm asking Illinois football a favor. If we have another bad game, let's get rid of it now please.

FYI, I'm completely confident this team is going to go out and dominate again but you never know.

Bielema's interview here is a must-watch. I'm completely impressed with him as a CEO, football coach, and person. I wasn't thrilled when he was hired, mostly because of a few headlines/perceptions from his past. But I'm very happy that I was completely wrong about him; he's the most complete coach/human being we've had in the job in my lifetime. And I'm guessing he's developed much as a coach and person over the past couple decades. I like to think I'm a bit better person than I was 20 years ago, and I'm thinking Bielema would say that about himself also.

The brief comments about his family, the interactions with players, love for his coaches ... one would be nuts not to want to work for or play for this guy.

Go Illini.

I know it dates me, but I was a student when the Illini beat Michigan for the big ten championship on halloween in 1983.
They closed green street. Kids hung from the light poles. Nothing too violent, I think maybe a sofa might have been burned
if i remember correctly. i sat in the temporary bleachers 10 yards behind the south endzone where David Williams dove into
the corner for the winning score. Jack Trudeau, Thomas Rooks and Craig Swoope are a few of the Illini on that all big ten team.

We seem to have caught the perfect sweet spot of him having chilled out a bit after becoming a husband and father and reaching age 50 but losing none of his hunger (literally or figuratively 😬) or his edge.

Challenges still await. They never stop, I don't care if you're Nick Saban or whoever. So much of our success has been driven by players and possibly coaches who will be on to bigger and better things elsewhere sooner rather than later. But the same understanding of and dedication to the process of building a successful football program that got us here is going to be what's needed to sustain it. Keep stacking days.

Joel Goodson

respect my decision™
I am getting ahead of myself. I would like Lunney to unleash the deep passing game against MSU.

Sooner or later somebody will get smart and put 8 guys in the box to stop our running game.

Lets do more play action and hit Bryant and Hightower deep. They have shown great speed and pass catching ability.

I wish Isiah success but until he cuts out the turnovers its hard to call his number.

lol at the idea that Lunney is going to cut back on Williams' opportunities.

I agree that there's a whole lot more to our pass game than has been shown thus far.
