I want him to be able to shoot and make one when teams defend him like Purdue did or he needs to sit in favor of Harmon. If he can't the big clogs the lane because they are ignoring Ty. I don't even see how this is debatable. BU said himself he didn't prepare enough or make the adjustments soon enough to deal with Purdue strategy of Edey on Ty and really just standing in the lane, helping others, and leaving Ty unguarded since he struggle or won't shoot.
I didn’t say he was capable of doing it yet. I’d like to see him develop something more than we’ve seen so far. I think he’ll get there at some point. At least I hope so. We need his energy and toughness.

I bought a ticket in Section 11 on StubHub as it was a great deal, but didn’t realize until now it’s the Orange Krush and I’ll be the embarrassing 32-year-old in the student section.

What do I need to know?
drink beers and yell loudly and wear comfortable shoes

Where did I write jump shot? I said I’d like to see him try a floater as he’s going toward the basket, and follow his shot. Just because he hasn’t done it yet doesn’t mean he can’t or won’t. He’s improved his FT shooting, so why not this. I don’t know how you get kool aid out of that.
Some fans are know it alls and just bitchy

Illinois' win vs FAU doesn't look as impressive.

Losses to Purdue, Tennessee and Marquette all took a hit with losses this week.

I think Illinois is the better team and wins tonight.
I think every team in the nation is going to have multiple "L"'s in the Loss column come March, so the Purdue and TN losses will hold up,. Marquette, TBD. They might be the 2021-22 Illini, hot as hell in December and then a big fizzle out . . .

I don’t think there is a dominate team this year. This week is evidence of that. If we handle our business in a not very strong Big Ten, we could be fighting for a #1 seed again. Have to win these games like tonight though at home! Go Illini

Absent some truly insane conference record, something like 18-2 including wins over Purdue and Wisconsin, I don’t know that we have the resume to be fighting for a 1 seed and the big ten just isn’t going to provide enough Q1 opportunities for us to get there. Had we won either the TN or Marquette games we could still get there. But I just don’t see us having a one seed worthy resume with all the top 10 wins that are available to the Big 12 or SEC.

I do think if we win the games we should, including Purdue and MSU tonight, we can get to that 2/3 line.

Marquette had entire team back so they had chemistry in December. Everyone else starting to catch up.

Hope your right. Wisky looks pretty good right now.

32 is young, have fun at the game and enjoy your 30s !
You're 32? A child. I'm the embarrassing 75 year old who still knows all the words to all the songs, and doesn't leave the stadium until the band plays the Alma Mater, among other things. Note: I still know all the words to the Granite City HS fight song, but I haven't sung it in public since probably 1966. Crank up Oskee-wow-wow and, c'mon man, sing it loud.

Huge game for seeding purposes.
Three point shooting and defending the three, arguably, has become the most important factor in College BB.
last 2 days:
Houston 27%
KU 33%
Tenn 27%
Purdue shot 39% but Neb shot 60%.
I'll also toss in Marquette. Jones and Kolek shot 1-17 last night and are 10-59 over the last 5 games which they have lost 3 of.
And Us over the last 3 to 4 years.
When MSU has played well, they've knocked down the threes. Our 3 point shooting D has diminished and will need to show up tonight..

I guess. I feel like Ohio St lost that game last night more than Wisky won it. Too many games left where I feel each team is gonna go through ups and diwns

Contain Walker and Akins. The rest just aren't that good. Get back to crashing the boards.

Illini: 82
MSU: 70
That's what we thought about Kaufman-Renn.

Seemed like Hoggard went off on us last year. He played like Penn St's Pickett.

We gotta stop all the Spartans. Let nobody go off.

Our NET Ranking declined
Can anyone enlighten me as to why the NET quad wins/losses are "fluid" vs. locking in as whatever the opponent's quad positioning was at the time of the win/loss?

In my mind, it makes more sense to record the victory versus a team as they were in that moment, whatever quad it might be, not who they become later on in the season.

old pru thinks the beloved will be victorious against the zero-izzo's tonight.......I really really do......

Illini 77
zero-izzo's 66

Doctor Domask takes small guards on a whirlwind booty-ball course and QG and cohawk clean up the rebounds for easy putbacks.........

poor little zero-izzo.......he will be doing this most of the night...........................

Playing 20 games now, it'll be a rare season now when 14-6 doesn't earn a share of the reg season title or very close to it. 15-5 (which won it for Purdue last year and us the year before) or 16-4 is hard to manage. It's a rough, long schedule.

Imagine its the start of the year. Team X is expected to be pretty good. But they then lose their first three games. Is the explanation that they got progressively worse over the course of those games, or that the preseason expectation was off?

In reality, it's not an either/or situation. Could be a little bit of both.
