The books don't put out lines like -5 Illinois to have people pound Sparty.

Books are not into losing money.

Man I wish I knew what @illini0440 knows....OR ....is he messing with us???

Love Grandy but he sometimes gets lost out there defensively and forgets stuff from the scout(as does Plummer) he also isn't the quickest laterally.
He's had some great defensive drives, but Grandy has some serious lapses in thought, on both ends of the court. Some of the offensive turnovers have been brutal.

That being said he's pretty easily been the 4th best player on the team this year, and arguably pushes for third tied with Plummer. I want him back next year.

So frustrating… I just want a span of 2+ weeks with all our guys… is that two much to ask???

It isn’t from practices
Didn’t Brad say 1) Kofi took a bad shot to the head the day before the Purdue game; and 2) Trent took a “horrific fall” that same practice?

We’re all aware of Edey’s antics and how Curbelo got hurt, but the pressers have given me the impression practice has been a culprit at times. See also, Hutcherson tailbone injuries.

What entrenched guards/wings do these freshman take minutes from?
All of them in my opinion. They need to give those guys a 2 minute blow frequently throughout the game here and there.... get them involved and establish them a little rhythm playing wise, before the game hits crunch time. That way our starters can close and not be exhausted... to the point where they are mistake prone, and legs are dead causing missed shots. These guys are over worked, and playing undersized against bigger, and stronger players. Their getting worn down over the course of the game and it's obvious! They make uncharacteristic plays towards the end of games, and play bad defense due to exhaustion... Purdue game for example, we get beat twice on simple back door plays for layups that would have never happened. Underwood spoke about how Trents defense was the worst he's had since forever... I attribute that to him playing so many minutes... uncharacteristic turnovers too! The team needs to use it's depth, which we all raved about early on in the year! It's a strength, not a weakness! Underwood has to see that! He needs to adjust... It's a team. Use the team! I-L-L (P.S) Not screaming at you with all the exclamation points! I just like to use them to show my passion... 😆

I mean, we have a 9/10 man rotation. Same as MSU. Only difference is we have a few guys who average 30+ minutes. But of those guys, who are you trying to keep off the floor in favor of the freshman? I do feel for the freshman on an empathetic human level. But the reality of being on a skilled, veteran laden team is that the new guys get less tick.
I've seen the freshman up close and personal in practice and they hold their own just as much as the vets do! They are just as skilled. With Underwood he just trusts experience like most wise people do! But you have to see also that you need these guys and allow them to earn your trust on the floor... and not to have such a quick leash on them to pull them! They will then be to afraid to make a mistake to where they become robots on the floor and afraid to play their game and show what they are capable of!

Losing this game will not be the end of the world, especially if we are banged up. As much as I want to win, I'm not going to pull my hair out with a loss if we continue to be less than full strength.

Get a double bye in the B10 tourney and a nice seed in the NCAA, while being fully healthy. That's when we will make our run.

Does AC still really have flu symptoms? I know a flu can last up to 7 days but typically not for a well conditioned college athlete getting solid treatment.

I can understand wanting to hold him out for conditioning reasons but in a game like this even 7-9 minutes to spell Trent would do wonders.

Agree on the short leash thing. It can stunt development. But so far in BU's tenure, he's shown a willingness to rely upon his freshman when needed (Trent, DMW, Giorgi, Ayo, Kofi, Belo, Miller). I think this year is just kind of unique with our starting lineup consisting of four 5 year players and an All American. Hope they stick around because they're all talented and there will be minutes up for grabs next year.

Any idea what’s happening on their roster? Does Sparty have any players out for the game?
