That's exactly right, and here's a recent example of the unexpected occurring, which gives me some degree of hope.
I know that no two scenarios are exactly alike, but the way this season is playing out is reminding me more and more of the other team I follow (South Carolina) and what they did in 2017.
After losing 6 of their last 9 games, including their first and only game of the SEC Tournament, the Gamecocks finished at 22-10 and were awarded a 7 seed (which seemed high to me, at the time, but I digress).
I'm sure most will recall how that Cinderella story went.
That kind of magic is rare, of course, but don't think it's impossible, even when a team seems to be limping down the stretch.
Can we get Caitlin Clark enrolled by Thursday to knock down some 3s for us? I bet she'd like to have the green light every possession and we'd make a lot higher percentage.

You just can't not run an offense. We only look decent when guys are hitting tough contested 3's. Our offense is one guy dribbles while three guys stand in one spot and watch and the last guy sets a poor screen that does nothing. That's it. Over and over. When we need to adjust, Brad says "play harder".
We could get hot from 3 and win the next two or we could shoot 20% and give up 30+ to Dickinson and/or Eden and get run out of the gym. I'd lean toward the latter but who knows.

Wow. I know I'm old and my eyes aren't as good as they used to be, (and I don't care if they suspend Dickinson or not), but how can you say he clearly missed stepping on him? I've watched it several times and it looks to me like he steps right on him. In addition to showing our true colors as a fan base, I guess we are also showing our lack of vision. Very different views IMO.

You know what? I think you're right. I watched again and I think his foot hit the floor ahead of his body. I was wrong.
Yeah, as goofy as it looked it seems unintentional and he did miss him (may have clipped him, but definitely not the same as Griffin).

And no, Hunter's losing streak will not be extended. Why? Because the Illini have no upperclassmen tough enough to hang with him.
CH, MM, and TSJ are soft and playing only for themselves. Hopefully BU has learned his lesson and brings in transfers/recruits that are like Harris and Rodgers. Tough and willing to play hard all game , every game!!
For someone with an ear on the inside, this is a concerning take.
A win here might move us up to an 8 spot but still keeps us on the 1-seed side of the bracket. We'll need some help to move up to the 7 or higher 
My only expectation is that we won't shoot well.

How can you sleep on UM? They're about the same in the analytics, they could still play their way into the tournament, and they're on a 3 game winning streak.
