During the player introductions, Cuonzo and Tilmon should be and will be heartily booed. Then the game starts. What are ya gonna do, boo every time he touches the ball? Of course not. Now I have to go practice my player introductions booing.

Second, Finke's man bun was simply this: bad juju.

Third, the season thus far has proved that all you gotta do to beat Illinois is play a zone defense. Then somebody has to go one on one at the top of the key with seven seconds left and put up a poor shot. One of the announcers a few games ago said that BU wants a shot the first 7 seconds or the last 7, IIRC. Nah, that's not smart basketball. It's the time in the middle where you score intelligently.

It's seemed to work at all of his previous stops. His coaching record makes it look like a pretty smart offensive philosophy. I hope we come out and erase some of these terrible turnovers at crucial moments. I think the energy in the building will be amazing. I think if we execute our game plan it is not out of the realm of possibilities to beat this Missouri team.

Illini start playing smart for full 40 minutes....new inbounds plays are introduced.....Mark Smith performs in front of hometown fans with monster game....Illini play zone D most of game ....former Illini recruit comes out on a moped and gets ejected before game starts...

I can’t tell if you’re joking because the complete opposite is true.

Will Leron keep his savage clean? Will he play more than 12 minutes? 'cause it's gonna get chippy.
What does chippy even mean? Is it like a hybrid of chirpy and lippy?
How is clipping the man bun bad ju ju? Has there been any good ju ju this year so far?
What is ju ju short for? Juicy juice?
Did Miznoz copy their MIZ NOZ chant from our ILL INI chant?
If the moon was made of spare ribs, would you eat it?

I have questions that need answers!

Mizzou hasn't beaten anyone to speak of yet, so not sure where this is coming from.
They have three KenPom top-100 wins: #49 St. John's, #59 Iowa St., and #75 UCF. Illinois' best win is #118 DePaul.

No, Illinois isn't going to lose by 30. But it's pretty obvious that Missouri has been the better team so far this season.

OMG! I can't even.....

If he sits on the Miznoz side, will he wear a Illinois hoodie? Will he switch sides at half time? Will he sit with Malcolm Hill? Will the Hill family sit with the Smith family?

I can't remember how many have gone to OT, but seems like a few of them. I know a lot of them come down to the buzzer

2014 was the first year I ever went. I was sitting with all Mizzou grads (as I have every year since, and will be doing again this year). They were all so happy when Mizzou tied it up and Rayvonte took such a contested three. When the shot first went up, they all stood up and thought it was headed to OT with the momentum. Once the shot hit it's peak, from the angle of our seats you could tell that it was going in. The switch from elation to depression by my Mizzou friends is something I will never forget.

My two favorite Braggin Rights memories (I've been watching since 2001):

2005: Never had more fun watching a beatdown in my life. They showed it at the Virginia Theatre and my dad took me. At the end of the first half we were up big but on the way to the locker room Dee was giving the young guys on the team an ANGRY sermon about not letting up.

2007: Ugly game and we were trash that year but when it became clear we were going to pull it out, the Illini contingent starting chanting "BCS! BCS! BCS!" (we backed into the Rose Bowl at 9-3 while Miznoz got shipped off to the Cotton Bowl at 11-2).

This is hilarious to me. Why in the world wouldn't you tell Cuonzo to get lost, quickly.

Yeah, this strikes me as some weird combination of gloating and pandering. The gesture is totally different (actually impressive?) if Martin had done it after a close loss.

Regardless of outcome, I don't want Martin anywhere near our locker room after we play them. Say your piece during the handshake line and leave it at that.

I am assuming that he was genuine in his intent but that was a really awkward speech. If I had just gotten done playing I would've been asking myself, "What is this guy doing in here and why does he keep repeating himself?" Cuonzo painfully struggles to articulate his point. I can only imagine that carries over when he is sitting in a recruit's living room. Give me BU without any doubt ... Go Illini!:shield:

Yeah I agree it is something coach K would do, lecture the other team because he feels:

a) They are beneath him and he wants to make them feel better about losing

or

b) They are beneath him and he wants to subtly dig at them

I don't get the National media saying this is awesome. Just what we need, a media man crush on Cuonzo now.

I hope we beat em. Bad. Real Bad lol

If we beat Mizzou in a close one, and Underwood asks to give a locker room speech to the Tigers after the game, I will love him forever. Forever and ever. :)

Underwood first needs to figure out how to inbound the basketball

I'd be happy if he just went to meet the ball when they pass it to him. How many times in the NMSU game did he stand there and wait for the pass to get to him and it got poked away or stolen? At least 3 times that I remember.

This. Not sure how many times, but it was twice on critical plays that led to live ball TO's. Had me screaming at the TV.

Agreed, but unfortunately the TO goes to the passer, however, in Finke's case he didn't come to meet the ball either time. Something that is very coachable. OTOH, our guards do some lazy and telegraphed passing.
