Should be scared of a team that has quadrant records that look like this?

Tough region, Iowa State, Auburn and UConn is a lot of tough, gritty and talented teams in a single region (not to mention The Beloved). Would have loved to see Duke, UNC or Kentucky instead of any of those squads.
We got hosed. Should be in Pittsburgh where Kentucky is at.

Not going to discount a team that has won 26 games, but the OVC isn’t the basketball conference it once was. Murray State, Austin Peay, Belmont, and Jacksonville State were all solid teams that left the conference and watered it down.

Am I the only one that feels we got absolutely hosed on this draw? Iowa State is a top 5 team, UConn is the best team in the country, BYU is ranked higher than Illinois in NET rankings, and Auburn is better than most of the 2 seeds. Absolutely brutal and so typical for IL. Smh
Not the only one, I’m sure, but I like our draw.

I really don’t like the potential second round matchup in BYU. Very underrated and scary.
Every second round opponent is capable and talented. Get to the next round and look around...all top 16 teams in a year of parity. BYU is pretty darned good but a lot easier to beat than Houston....they are kind of like Wisky who we beat twice on the road...but a step below. Regardless, Illini will need to play well to beat anyone. No gimmies the rest of the season.

Jacksonville State was never a basketball power in the OVC. The other 3, absolutely. But not the Gamecocks.
