Probably going to be a tough one but I think we continue to show progress.

This is a game we could steal if we clean up some of the sloppy mistakes during the bye week.

Based on what I have seen the first three games, we can beat Nebraska in two weeks

I mean, if NIU can beat Nebraska....we can too! Right? Guys?? Right?!?!?!?

Not at all being said. I watched the whole game and I saw an offense as stagnant as ours and a good defense...sound familiar? Their QB is a stand in the pocket, Lunt type QB and has thrown 7 interceptions in 2 games. I think it is a winnable game, not a sure thing.

Nebraska blows, they have a young pocket passer who makes bad decisions with the ball and an absolute sieve for a defense.

Illinois can beat Nebraska. At home, they should. Purdue gonna crush us.

Yeah Purdue is going to make us look silly.

Is this the same QB Nebraska fans were so excited about?

I believe so, he transferred from Tulane and sat out a year for his redshirt. When he has time to sit in the pocket, he will tear a secondary apart. When he gets pressure though, he falls apart and his o-line is not helping very much (I am having deja-vu). Before this season started, they were worried that he would be a one-and-done QB because he would go pro after this year. Not sure if that is still a factor.

Predicting Dunlap gets his first interception. Go Illini!

Purdue is improved, but that one is still a winnable game. Louisville isn't as good as they were last year, and Mizzou is terrible. It will be a tougher game than originally thought, but still winnable. Really, the only game left that isn't winnable is @Ohio St. You might be able to throw Wisconsin in there as well but since it's at home anything can happen.

This is certainly a more winnable game then it might have appeared when the season began. I will be interested to see what the coaching staff does with an extra week of preparation. Nebraska has to play next week (albeit against Rutgers) so this should be an advantage for the Illini.

That's where I'm at -- winnable game but by no means a sure thing. I watched a fair amount of the NIU-Boston College because have friends who are BC grads, and NIU looked OK at best (they ended up losing by 3 and BC hasn't won since). If Illini win turnover battle, I think we win.

I wonder if Nebraska is still sick of "only" winning 10 games a year under Bo Pelini.

That coaching change looks terrible now and someone P5 school is going to luck out when they hire Pelini in the next year or two.

EDIT: Just googled Bo Pelini to see what he is up to and he has quite the mess on his hands right now.

You referring to the whole Stubenville rapist thing, or did he do something else?

The Stubenville rapist episode leads me to believe those that said Pelini was fired more for being a miserable P.O.S. than anything that happened on the football field.
