Remaining ticket prices just sky rocketed on the team website. Cheapest ticket in the horseshoe is $144. Why would they do this? Seems stupid for a game where attendance is so critical.

EDIT: Must have been a glitch on the website. Prices are back to normal. Carry on! However both corner sections 101 and 131 are now available for purchase so maybe they are seeing increased sales?? (wishful thinking I know)

EDIT: Also seems like more tickets have come available. This is all infuriating to me. I would think our AD is smart enough not to turn this into a money grab but I guess not.
I see lots of $35 tickets in horseshoe. Don't see anything above $70 anywhere. I know they are giving free tickets to university employees.

Somebody help me out, both teams are pretty much bring back the same teams, we beat them down in Lincoln last year, our coaching IQ has jumped 1,000,000 points yet we are picked to lose at home, I just don't get it.
Martinez back at QB for Nebraska probably a factor. McCaffrey was awful last year

Let’s just throw caution to the wind: Remember when Wisconsin welcomed Nebraska to the B1G? August 28- Champaign Illinois. Part II. We’re going to send Frost & the geriatric Martinez packing. Oskee Wow Wow, Illinois.

First time attending a home game since the creation of Grange Grove. No plans to tailgate in place in the parking lot. Liquid refreshments will be plentiful around the stadium (from 10am to noon) I presume?

They did have a beer garden set up in grange grove in past years. Worst case scenario bring a 6 pack and make friends!

Here’s some info. It says “Beer Tent,” but then gives no specifics. I’ve gone to Grange Grove almost every game since it opened. Before Covid, there was a beer garden/tent to the right of the Grange statue where you could pay a fee and get a wristband at the entrance. We’ve never gone in, but I’d guess they’ll still have it. We always bring our own bag chairs and a pull-behind beer cooler and set up near the big sidewalk. Make sure you get there before the team does the Illiniwalk. It’s very cool and should be really fantastic the first time Coach Bielema leads it!

Does anyone else feel like we could be entering a golden era of Illinois athletics? With the current state of the basketball program and the momentum BB has already started with football, I feel like we could have 2 very competitive programs very soon.

We inching closer to 45k plus yet?? That seems to be the threshold for it to look respectable on TV, haha.
Free tickets for faculty and staff for a few sections as a thank you for dealing with Covid last year. I don't know specifics as my friends and I buy season tickets, but people that requested free tickets should show up. I wish they'd give free tickets to the incoming freshmen and put them all in the student section.

It looks like coach has lost weight since taking the job. Good for him, I know how unfun that can be.

I think forcing Nebby to react to our scheme should help us out. I've got a growing sense that we may have a high-powered offense, and that our defense will be competent, if not lock-down. Illinois for the win by more than a touchdown, because I always like to start the season optimistic.
Famous last words, but I really don't think our defense can be worse than last year. No where to go but up.

Offense. Coach B wants to get the rock to our backs and punish their D-line. We want the ball first.
Agreed. Given the weather - this is probably now the key. Keeps both Martinez and our defense off the field.

Then complete 15-20 short passes to our RB's, TE's and IW.
