Mast just seems like a guy who needs a t shirt on under his jersey. Shoulders look greasy. And on a similar theme ,noticed when they played Wisconsin most wear sports bras? What would the purpose of that be?

It could be because I'm skewed watching his highlights to catch up, but he doesn't appear slower than Tomi.

I set the time in this video to when he scores and runs across the court, he initially takes it a bit slow to celebrate but then picks up speed.

I mean yes, he sure looks like a big, slow lumbering 6-10 260 lb guy to me in that clip... not exactly a gazelle there

Made sure to watch the rest of the video too though, you definitely picked the one play he actually didn't jog lol

EDIT: Notice how he basically took the next play off, guy was spent after that sprint!

But I think we're just saying he's faster than Tomi, which is a fairly low bar to set... my original statement might be wrong, not sure, but I think it would at least be somewhat close... I also consider that Tomi isn't effective because he's quick/fast, so I'm unsure how much it actually matters, I dunno

When I was in college we walked five miles in waist-deep snow to get to games at the Assembly Hall.

In both directions. During finals.
Do I need to bring up the Kentucky game on 12/24/83? Well since you asked, at game time the temperature was -13 and there was an a**load of snow on the ground from the previous week. Weather conditions were so bad that the scheduled referees couldn't make it into Champaign, so they pulled 3 High School refs from the stands. School was obviously not in session. And there were still 7k+ fans who made it out for the game. It obviously wasn't as loud as it would have been with 16k fans, but it was a great crowd nonetheless. Definitely one of the more memorable games I have attended

Refs did a remarkable job.

I was a high school senior so not around for that one but of course have heard the lore. That inspired me to train diligently to walk uphill in arduous conditions to and from school that winter after Christmas break. Served me well in Champaign, particularly heading into the wind.

[Edit: per @illinibbcz, RIP Deluxe Lunch & Billiards. That fish sandwich...]

Methinks I remember Lee Cabutti as being the hoops coach at Champaign H. S. pre-Centennial era. Am I right? Pretty sure. They likely knew Cabutti was there and he knew a couple if guys in attendance who had certification. Not sure Lee would have kept up his certification, so it may have been is son. Glad to hear they performed well, but if that was the report, they likely had a home bias!!

Uphill both ways! (Edit - Germanboxers beat me to it)

I transferred to UI after my sophomore year and spent most of the fall semester on crutches from an ACL tear. I was on crutches from October to January, and had to poke my way around campus the entire semester as there was no handicap parking available for students at that time. I can tell you going from the armory to the various building on campus on crutches in the snow sucked, especially when you had maximum 20 minutes to get from Huff to the building where ALS HQ was.

Well, after checking Google, he was their coach from 1956 to 1985. Centennial opened in 1966, the year after I graduated from High School. Still have a mind like a steel trap (albeit an old steel trap that is rusty and non-functional).

You forgot uphill and against the wind both ways. (It actually may have been a foot change in elevation).
And the snow was so deep you actually walked across the fences to keep the animals in the fields

This reminded me of a wonderful time from my childhood. I lived in Champaign, and back in the late 70's it snowed so much that we couldn't open our front door and school was cancelled for what seemed like a week. When we finally got out, all the kids in the neighborhood put on our snowsuits and organized a massive neighborhood snowball fight. My backyard had bushes that were probably 5ft tall and ran 40 ft along the fence. They were deep too. The snow drifts allowed us to climb up to the top of the bushes, and it was cold enough that the structure of the bushes froze, meaning we could tunnel inside them and walk along the top. That was the front line for the greatest snowball fight I've ever been a part of, and eventually we put on ski goggles and brought out the BB guns. It was awesome!
