If Belo and Trent are out, I would predict a double digit loss. Realistically, it's just hard to run much w/o your guards, especially PG. Hopefully, we get those two back soon, or things are going to get ugly.
Hutch being thrown into the fire at the start of this season. I'm hoping something clicks with him asap.

At this point, I’ll be absolutely ecstatic with a win and will manage to keep my faith in the event of a close loss. Unbelievable how disruptive of a non-conference that we’ve had thus far. I can only hope this will pay dividends as the season progresses and we can manage to click/find our groove.

Regardless of what anyone says, this team and staff are still VERY capable of playing like a top 15 team come March if everyone can get back to speed … I just hope that 1) We don’t lose too much to cost us a good seed in the Midwest and 2) these guys don’t get too down on themselves to remember that.

Gonna take more than just Kofi and Plummer IMO against ND. Hopefully, DMW, Hawkins or Goode can provide some offensive punch tonight. Man, I hope we get healthy before next week.
Maybe. At least ND is not good so we have a chance.

Agree, maybe. But we have already lost to the #76 Kenpom (Cincinnati) and #83 (Marquette) teams WITH Belo, Trent, and Grandson. Notre Dame is the #40 team.

As others have mentioned, and I failed to mention, hopefully Hutcherson can start to assert himself a bit more in the absence of those three. We need him to badly tonight.

True, though clearly Curbelo was not 100% in any of those.

I can't believe the entire U of I athletic department doesn't get flu shots . . . but look at football with Josh and now BBV. Jeez, just line up at Walgreens and git er done.

Notre Dame isn't that good and poorly coached. Brey checked out a few years ago. Illinois will still win.

Might be foolishly searching for optimism here, but one thing that might help these guys in “big games” this week is the home crowd. Yes, we came out flat at home last Friday, but hopefully that was a travel hangover, and the guys come out with more energy for the Big Ten/ACC Challenge and the start of Big Ten play, both in front of full and hopefully rowdy crowds.

Win two winnable games this week, and we are likely ranked again when we head to Iowa City Monday. I’d like that, personally.
