Ohio State and their fans still think they should have beat Illinois twice, that they had them beat in Columbus and had them blown out in Champaign.

I'd like to see the team put the last "should have" to rest in the conference.

Michigan "should have" won the conference outright: Illinois wins at Ann Arbor 76-53.
Ohio State "should have" the 1 seed over Illinois: Illinois wins at Columbus 73-68.
Rutgers "should have" a good matchup against Illinois: since they beat them early in the year Illinois beats Rutgers in the BTT 90-68
Iowa "should have" won with Frederick in Champaign: Illinois beats Iowa in the BTT 82-71.
Ohio State "should have" won both games vs Illinois: ?

I contend that the correct analogy is Batman and Superman, but OK.

Part of Curbelo being a better outside scoring threat is him catching the ball in a position to shoot. His instincts right now are pass or drive. His shot looks decent otherwise.

Superb!

It's pretty clearly 1989 and 2005 and 2021 as our best ever teams......in no particular order. 7 more wins and we can then rank them!!!

2005 was our best team ever. But for a fluke shot in the dying seconds by Ohio State and refs who clearly wanted North Carolina to win, we would have had the greatest team in NCAA history.

The joy of watching Dee, Deron and Luther pass the ball around was something I will not forget.

At this point, it seems like we deserve the #2 overall seed, ahead of Baylor.

Baylor is 10-2 in Q1/2 games.

We’re currently 17-6.

We’ve already won as many Q1 games (12) as Baylor has *played* Q1 *and* Q2 games (12).

By the end of the day tomorrow, whether we win or lose, we’ll have played twice as many Q1/2 games as Baylor.

We have more losses than Baylor, but we’ve played a much stronger schedule and have won 7-8 more big games (depending on tomorrow’s outcome).

And, keep in mind, Baylor beat Illinois 82-69, which overcomes a lot of leeway in resumes. They could be the 2, but if it's close, it'll be Baylor due to the head to head result.

I've never truly hated OSU. Not like I do Michigan, anyway. I think it's because Michigan fans are just simply that much worse.
Oh for sure. I do not like OSU but my hatred for Michigan is second only to my hatred for the Cardinals (sorry Illini-Cards fans, I know you guys hate us too).

Ok my Illini Family... would you rather have Feliz or Curbelo?
Senior year Feliz>fresh Curbelo

but obviously Curbelo for his second year will be much better than Feliz

Love Feliz but I don’t think I’d even say this if we’re talking current, end-of-fresh-year Curbelo. He’s already the rare guy that gets easy buckets because opponents are so concerned with his passing, instead of the other way around. It’s really fun to watch and opens things up a ton for the whole team on offense.

Did we all forget about the Rutgers game? Curbelo has definitely closed the gap and I absolutely love him. But he is still a freshman and sometimes plays like it. Feliz had that consistency you get from an upper classmen

I get it. I don't hate the Cubs specifically. I just hate the city.

I guess that's the same. 😏
No, not necessarily the same. I'm a Cardinals fan who dislikes the Cubs but kind of likes the White Sox. :sneaky: But, in any case, GO ILLINI!

Think it actually might be close between kofi and ayo

in two games kofi is avg 22 pts, 10 boards, .5 assists, 1 block

ayo is 20.5 pts, 6 boards, 7.5 assists, 1.5 steals

Might give a slight edge to ayo

As long as its one of our guys im good with it either way, bc it probably means we won
Coaching, people!

I’d just like to take as second to thank Tom Izzo, the refs, and to the Michigan State Spartans for their contribution to this team. That game where Ayo got injured was the turning point for this team. The rest of our players blossomed in that 3 game stretch. I don’t think we’re the same team today without that game so Tom just wanted to say thank you.
