This game time is absolutely trash. Lots of people don't get MLK Day off.
Would you prefer it played Monday night, going up against an NFL playoff game?

Absolutely not. This is a prime National TV game on Fox all around the country(just checked to make sure it is on in Dallas & it is) that the whole nation can see. Huge exposure for the program. If it was at night who knows what channel would carry it. Sneaking away from the office for a long lunch to watch it for sure!Would you prefer it played Monday night, going up against an NFL playoff game?
Because the NFL is a waste of many peoples time
Because the NFL is a waste of many peoples time
So I can actually watch it?
Because Monday is Rams/Cardinals. Probably very few people who are fans of Illinois or Purdue or the B1G or anything other than the Pac-12 will care about that NFL game.
I’ve been saving this for the right moment, but you’ve earned it! Great post. The resurrection of this program has been a beautiful thing, and I want to keep it rollin'!
Obviously, our longest streak of regular season Big Ten wins was from 2004 to 2005, when we won 25 straight (won our last 10 in 2004 and started 15-0 in 2005). However, we did lose against Wisconsin in the 2004 Big Ten Tournament, so the streaks vs. Big Ten opponents would have been 12 in 2004 and 15 in 2005.
Since 2005, the longest win streak we have had vs. Big Ten opponents is EASILY the one we are on right now! After losing at MSU last year, we won our last 4 B1G games and then won the BTT for 7 straight, combining with this year's 6-0 start for 13 straight. Just amazing.
P.S. This is the first time Illinois and Purdue will both be ranked since 2009!

That includes me, who would rather it not be at 10 am my time.
But I guess I somehow doubt casual NFL fans will tune into our game in droves at 12 E/9 P. The NFL game is at 8:15 E/5:15 P. They easily could have put our game 3 to 5 hours later. That doesn't really matter though because I'm sure the casual NFL fan is much more likely to watch Rams/Cardinals than the casual B1G fan is likely to watch Illinois/Purdue. Thus the reason you start it as early as they do.
The idea that I'm the only person working on Monday is interesting. So they should change the game time so one person, and one person only, is not inconvenienced by the start time? That's not exactly a great business model.
I thought everyone did that9am tipoff out here in Oregon!?! Might have to put some Baileys in my coffee…
Of course, we won't know the new rankings until halftime of the game.Likely going to be #5 Purdue coming to town to face #21 and first place Illinois on Monday (all conjecture, of course, and the rankings will come out like right at tipoff, lol). Surprised this isn't a "Paint the Hall Orange" game or anything like that, but I hope the Krush is back and everyone is in orange and loud!
Checking in from Tualatin. Really? 9am PST?9am tipoff out here in Oregon!?! Might have to put some Baileys in my coffee…
I thought it was noon EST, so right at tipoff? Could be wrong.Of course, we won't know the new rankings until halftime of the game.
Torvik has us as a 2 point favorite.I haven's seen the Vegas odds but I would expect the Illini to be a 2 or 3 pt favorite.
I'd be pretty surprised if we were favored tbh. Thinking more like Purdue -2I haven's seen the Vegas odds but I would expect the Illini to be a 2 or 3 pt favorite.
