We lost by eight while we out-gained them, with a chance to tie at the end. While disappointing, It wasn’t a lousy waste-of-time like losing 63-0 to Iowa.
Like I said I don't feel that way and I don't ever think it's a waste of time or money to see the Illini play in any sport. But I do think there are a good number of fans that do feel that way. Then throw in a 2, 3 or 4 hour drive or more and I can understand that sentiment.

After a day to soak it all in, I cannot wait for the Purdue game and get this bad taste out of my mouth. We aren't in this position enough to give up, or let our team down as fans. We can all pinpoint several things that went wrong yesterday. I'm inclined to say that MSU caught a lot of breaks, and was was darn lucky to come away with a W.

This upcoming Saturday's weather in Champaign looks like a high of 38 and low of 21, so it will be typical November Big Ten weather. I think we will come out victorious. If we don't, then we never deserved to go to Indy. The coaches and players have to want it more than Purdue. I sure want it. Iowa's defense is similar to ours, so just follow the same scheme that they just used to shut down their offense.

Win 2 of the last 3 (in my head 3 of 3 is not realistic, but I'm all for it). That's all. The Citrus Bowl or ReliaQuest Bowl is within reach. Let's do this.

We love no other so let our motto be......Victory, Illinois.....Varsity!!!

Lunney may as well have 2nd and 9 tattooed on his forehead. Not just the last game, but all season. Up the middle on 1st down, get stuffed, then 2nd and 9. More times than I can endure.

On that note - DIA owes us miserable fans. Do whatever you have to do, including free student tickets, to get a packed house for your last home game.
Just arrived home from a weekend out-of-town wedding. Debating whether or not to watch the game I have on Tivo.

I've thus far read nothing about the MSU game except for a brief summary. Haven't even yet watched the highlights (lowlights). Sounds like the Offense was a bit sloppy and particularly ineffective in the red zone.

Curious -- why does the DIA owe us?

This was always the game we had to win anyway. We get a mulligan for today in the form of a 1-win NU team. Take care of business, go to Indy.
Agree with this. If we were going to lose one our first two games in November, we chose the right game.

Any ticket experts on what we can expect for attendance this Saturday?

I'm debating on going to Purdue game. I know I should but hour drive, 30 degree weather vs watching game in my recliner, under a blanket in my sweats. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh

In our 2 loses this season there have been a few similarities
1. D line could not get consistent pressure
2. Could not get momentum. Either a penalty or an unforced error on our part
3. Bad special teams play
4. The ball bounce seems to favor the other team
5. Questionable calls by refs
6. Questionable offense play calling
7. A QB playing one of their best games of the season

Some of these factors we can control others we have to play harder than the other team to make our own luck while playing smart

We can win this one and need to forget about last week

I was shocked (and disappointed) when they showed glimpses of the NEZ and East Main student sections. Was really expecting more for a 3:30 start time against a conference opponent with the possibility of moving into the top 15 on the line (and Game Day next week).
As you sat out of the wind in your cozy and warm house you were disappointed that more students didn’t want to sit in the end zone with 40-50 mph gusts of wind hitting them in the face all afternoon? Why didn’t you go?
