Don’t think we will see very much Ty against Purdue. Just a bad matchup for him.
Not a good matchup for sure as the thing Purdue does best pretty much neutralizes him. That said, I think Ty's playable if he has a much different approach than in the first game. In the 1st game, he'd give up the ball immediately at the 3pt line while nobody was guarding him. Instead, he needs to take that ball and drive it straight into Edey, and find the open cutter in likely Quincy, who absolutely destroyed his man offball in the first meeting. Edey was too slow laterally to recover to guard Guerrier if he beats his man offball and is forced to either give up a layup or foul.
Now the reason I'm even bringing this up is that if Ty isn't on the floor defensively, we'd really need Harmon to stay tethered to his man, or Goode to lock in when he's in, and both have had some major issues with that in games this year. As well, when Ty's off the floor, an already elite Purdue rebounding team starts dominating the boards, so if Ty isn't responsible for Renn or Gillis, there is a giant drop off there. And giving Purdue 2nd chance opportunities is playing with gasoline and a flamethrower.
So while this certainly isn't a good matchup for Ty, we're probably still going to need minutes out of him, and he can be effective in those minutes but he has to come in with a different mindset from the first game and play smart.
