I think it was Illini, but I don't give a damn. A young kid who is becoming a fan can't see. I figured 0440 wouldYou mean until the opponent scored?
respond. But maybe he should take a young person that says I can't see anything!!!

I think it has been the tradition to stand until the opponent scores for at least 20 years.Serious ,and the name is not Clark ,Orangeade when you pay for the tickets!!
I remember doing that in the 80s when i was a student.I think it has been the tradition to stand until the opponent scores for at least 20 years.
Illini fans to come need to learn the traditions we have. That's been a thing for years and there's a video board for a reason.A reply to 2nd pl.1st loser. Took my 10 yr. old grandson to a game last year. Unfortunately fans in front of us thought by standing for over 3 minutes in game time till Illini scored helped the team. But a young fan can't see a damn thing. All for fan support, but your really NOT playing. Have some respect for others, especially the new Illinois fans to come!
Took my son to a football game when he was about that age (stripe the stadium vs Ohio State - awful seats, middle of a very long row about 2/3 of the way up the stands). Similarly, he was not able to see most of the time. Sometimes I had trouble as well. On the way home, I asked if had a good time and wanted to go back. He said he did, but suggested next time we sit in the front row!
I have mixed feelings on this. I have two young children, and for the Purdue basketball game last year, we were seated behind a group who stood. The kids both knew what the tradition was, and they understood coming into it they'd be seated. But it does suck. And from that angle, even the video board does you no good. You're paying to look at the back of someone's head. That said, we've also sat up front, and my son stood the entire game because he was so excited. I've been to SFC many times, but I've never sat as low as I will be tomorrow. My son isn't "short", but we're sitting behind the student section. It's interesting because if I move five feet back, I'd be inside of a club box(corner). Not sure what to expect because it's not like we're in the middle of the section in either direction.I have mixed feelings on this. On another note, I went to a football game with a friend when I was in the 6th or 7th grade. This would have been mid-90's. We got to our seats, and there were a couple of gentlemen sitting in them, talking to their friends. We pointed it out, and they told us to find seats somewhere else. After speaking with an usher, he told us the same thing. So we simply wandered around the stadium for three hours.
Has this season been unpredictable? In conference we have beat the teams with losing records (losing to Illinois contributes to their losing record) and we have lost to teams with winning records. MSU is the only conference team with winning record we have beat. PSU is the only conference team with a losing record that beat Illinois. For me, the unpredictable part is the margin of the wins/lossesThis season has been pretty unpredictable for not just the Illini, but college basketball in general....but if we play good defense (which has been pretty consistent throughout this season) and we Shoot the Ball well then we should win by 5-10pts...shoot the ball poorly then it's a toss up....keep waiting for RJ to shoot the ball like last season....go Illini!
The last sentence says it all, really. Even throwing UCLA, Texas, Northwestern and PSU all into the pot, this team's legacy will be 110% decided by the games in front of it. If we play like we did at Iowa going forward and cut down on the silly mistakes, the sky is the limit. If we continue to do the Jekyll and Hyde routine, this season is anyone's guess. I think we have thankfully avoided the doomsday scenario we were looking at when Skyy announced he was leaving.Has this season been unpredictable? Outside of 2 non conference wins (Texas and UCLA) we have slightly underperformed my expectations (I think I can say many Illinois fans).
Time for another Q1 win on Saturday
Going to miss the Da'Monte / Mulcahy match up. Even free throws were sassy.Illinois 69-65, and Mulchahy drives us nuts.
I think Harris/Mulcahy will be fun, so long as Sencire avoids picking up any early touchy feely fouls. I would guess we'll see Rodgers with minutes covering him as well . Either way, we need to make Mulcahys minutes out there an absolutely miserable experience.Going to miss the Da'Monte / Mulcahy match up. Even free throws were sassy.
Have to pester him far from the rim, because if he's watched the film of us so far, he'll be drawing fouls with crafty leaning in.
I actually really like Rutgers, but I have hated that kid ever since his flop to get Da'Monte a technical in 2021. So bogus. He also just tripped TJD at the end of their game vs. Indiana, so he's pretty clearly a tool.Going to miss the Da'Monte / Mulcahy match up. Even free throws were sassy.

I believe the Illini will win Saturday. I also don't see how any of the posters that think that this could be a sweet 16 team ,if they can't win Saturday.
If we can get Omuruyi in foul trouble, that changes the game. How do you know he cannot score on Edey. His level of reach is longer than Kofi's. If he bodies him, he may be able to shake and bake his way to a few buckets there
We've had so many struggles this year, some of painful variety, that I don't think it's determinable of how much talent that we have. I think that we have some significant holes, most notably depth in the front court, the lack of a true PG(though Epps has stepped in very well) and the lack of having multiple threats from beyond the arc. Against more physical teams, we've had a tendency to get bullied/destroyed in the paint. Penn State, Northwestern and Iowa come to mind. (I'm leaving Indiana out because TJD does that to everyone). What Perkins did to us last week was tough to stomach. He got into the lane at will. That's my #1 concern vs Rutgers. They are extremely physical and have legitimate size in their backcourt, which is where we've been hurt this year. This team has more raw talent than most (I said most) of the 50 plus years I've been rooting for Illinois. This team has also caused me to scream at my TV or at the court more than all the other teams combined. I see a team that struggles with turnovers, rebounding, and at the free throw line. Not a recipe for a long tourney run.
I totally understand why a poster may change their minds on the prospects of this team on a daily basis. I'm sure BU and his staff does too.
He reminds of Davison from wisky, the nut puncher. Just a tool.I actually really like Rutgers, but I have hated that kid ever since his flop to get Da'Monte a technical in 2021. So bogus. He also just tripped TJD at the end of their game vs. Indiana, so he's pretty clearly a tool.
