They are getting their all American leader back….they will respond just fine
I know TSJ couldn’t officially practice. How much unofficial pick up games has he played with his friends who play basketball? It will be over a month without playing a game, how long will it take before he is playing like he did prior to the suspension

My hope is that we bI**hslap ru into the next state from the tip off until the final horn sounds.......put the fear of the Ancients into all other college programs that we are coming for the natty to appease the mental pain that a hated DA in Kansas has tried to take away from our goal this season...................

Hopefully TJ has been keeping up with the behind the scenes work and won't be overly rusty come Sunday.

That’s what the Illini will do to Rutgers on Sunday, thank you very much.

Typical home away swing is 6 pts. Michigan got +3 from being at home, even at a neutral site, then Illinois +3 at State Farm. So I’d expect we would’ve been 7 pt favorites against Michigan at home (give or take a point or two).

I’d expect us to be around 9.5 against Rutgers.

I actually feel a little bad for what we are about to unleash against Rutgers lol.

This team has to be feeling great about where they are. They gained a ton of confidence without their star, and now get to see how far they can go with him. I would be pretty surprised if we didn't jump on Rutgers from the start. Guessing it will be an ugly score at halftime. Something like 47-26.

Is there any chance Terrence can still earn AA status with how much time he’s missed?

I think it comes down to the voters. Do you look at him as a basketball player or do you look at his legal issues. If you look at basketball alone he should be right there

That is awesome ... Hope you guys have a great time ... And happy early birthday to the little man ...
Thanks! I balked at explaining why he’s been suspended even though before every game he asks if TSJ will play. I finally broke down tonight and gave a very vaguely synopsis. Regardless, he’s just glad he gets to see all his heroes 🙂

How the heck will teams manage Domask now? Sure would be really stupid to double with TSJ on the court. I really am excited to see what this offense can do with everyone now leaning into their strengths. We can also get the defense back on track as that has dipped significantly without our best perimeter defender.
Just as teams were starting to figure out how to defend booty ball…

While I suspect he will not earn such honors given all that has transpired, there's still a chance.

Based upon Robert's interview with Gilfillan, it does sound as if TSJ will now be on the floor throughout all of January, February and March. Still plenty of time to make up lost ground.

Have to admit, I was an early doubter of this team when TSJ went out in late December. However.......

Just like the 1989 squad when Kendal Gill went down for several weeks, this team has gotten even stronger during his absence. I could never have fathomed how big of a leap we'd see from Domask, Guerrier, Rogers, Goode, Harmon and Hawkins. This team is really loaded from 1-7, and we even have serviceable depth well beyond that!

Prediction: TSJ does not start, but enters the game after the first TV timeout on Sunday.

Most teams will not be able to. Thats why i feel we are a top 5 team in the country with TJ.
I try to watch a lot of the big teams and I while I think plenty of teams could beat the Illini the only one that would really scare me as a matchup is UCONN.

They move the ball very well, have a bunch of different guys that can score, have good length, and they are very good defensively with Clingan.

The only matchup that really scares me is with the referees.
